Hi
Wondering if anyone knows the electrical schematic for the H15R battery pack. I use the headlamp on my hard hat for work. I have some neck issues and the battery pack is too heavy to carry on my head for extended periods, it weighs a frigging ton! I would like to make my own battery set with much smaller batteries that would weigh about half of the original. Ledlenser do not make an alternative, what I actually do is use an extension cord and keep the battery in my back pocket, a bit of a hassle. I only use the lamp intermittently so am happy to take the duration hit, the current battery lasts about a week at my usage level. If I know the battery schematic I can potentially recreate with smaller batteries and wear the battery pack on my hard hat without stuffing up my neck. I would 3D print a container for the smaller batteries and insert that in the battery case. Thanks

Their website states that the battery pack is 7.4V.
I'm assuming that's nominal (2x3.7V)?
You could make up your own 2S battery pack by the sounds of things but you need to take into account the max draw (2500 lumens has got to be pulling a bit, even with two batteries in series).
I only had a quick look at the website, but I'm guessing the battery pack is 2x18650 in series?
First thing I'd do is get a multimeter onto the battery pack plug and measure the fully charged voltage.
In my experience, with the limited LedLenser stuff I own, they recharge on the low side. I'd expect you get around 8V, unless of course it charges to the full 8.4V?

If your current headlamp is a bit to heavy for you, you may want to look into a different headlamp that's a bit lighter.
The ones that I would recommend that would be lighter and still have a decent battery life are:
https://fenix-store.com/collections...hm70r-21700-rechargeable-headlamp-1600-lumens

If you wanna customize the Fenix HM70R, you could purchase one from Vinh at SkyLumen.

You could look into a Acebeam H30, either one that's stock or modified.

Here's two that have been modified by Vinh:

Another option from Sky Lumen:

Otherwise I hope you figure out something that will work for you, so you don't have any neck pain.
