I've been carrying around my Logan17500 for almost a month now, and I've gotta say fellas, I'm impressed.
First I was a bit hesitant to buy one of these as there is not much buzz around them, and the only thing that most people mentioning the company agreed upon was that they are pretty hard to reach by any means.
Well, firstly I got a response to the mail the same day by Robyn, and as I had special requests we had exchanged quite a few mails, and the response was always quick, so that was a sigh of relief there.
The second thing that a lot of people complained about was the website, and I don't know how it looked like back then, but now it's quite simple and easy to manage.
After mucking about with it constantly I figured out the "tactical only" configuration, which is actually an accidental result of the build.
So if you have the keychain body with the momentary switch, you can just put the battery first into the tube, then the spacer ( if any ), then the qtc on top, tighten it down to the desired output you'd want, and voila, you have a momentary only light. You can pre-set the output with the tightness of the head and activate by just lightly pushing in the tail button. It's brilliant!
( you lose contant-on tho, but that isn't an issue for me )
The other thing I was unsure of, is that just how sturdy it is, but one night I dropped it on the pavement by accident, and after a few bounces and roll I managed to pick it up. Much to my surprise right then I couldn't feel the dent/scratch as to which part of the body it landed on, and the optics seemed to be intact so I was using it on the way home as well. When I arrived home I inspected the light, and much to my amusement there was only the slightest little ( about 0.5 mm ) scratch on the head only a few microns deep. As someone who uses HA alu. lights most of the time I was just amazed how little f.ks were given by this light to bouncing around on concrete.
I've played around with different power sources as well, and even though the 17500 li-ion gives a bit more oomph in the beginning, the circuit protection cuts off the cell waaaaay before I'd be comfortable with it, so I just settled with the good old CR123, and it's been going strong. Luckily it's a vampiric driver, so you can basically use any primary until it's sucked dry.
So all in all, customer service was top notch, the light is amazing in both durability and color rendering, and it has become part of my EDC rotation.
