I'm looking for new flashlights to use on the boat. Needs to be AA & waterproof. I would like it to be plastic. In the past I've had Pelican lights, and would get again except the Pelicans seem insanely expensive for what you get compared to lights like the Romisen MXDL RC-G2.

For example, this light would be fine:

However..$60! The specs aren't that impressive.

This looks ok:

Any suggestions?

Take a look at the Princeton Tec brand lights. They have a few different AA battery models, most are plastic and are waterproof. Some models are even made for diving. They offer both LED and incandescent light sources.

I have seen some of the Coast (LED Lenser) Frogman lights sold at Lowes home center stores and own the 4AAA version. They are plastic and waterproof.

+1 for the Fenix TK20, with the bright yellow handgrip you should be able to locate it easily. It's most definitely waterproof and nigh on bomb proof too. No worries if you drop it on the boat and it rolls around etc

Princeton Tec Torrent LED, 8AA, 95 lumens for about 50, Pelican Stealthlite, 4AA, 84 lumens for 45ish and Underwater Kinetics has their eLED Zoom, 77 lumens, but I haven't seen the new version anywhere, so I don't know it's price.

The thing to keep in mind with most H2O proof plastic lights is they aim for runtime, not blazing output.
