Looking at a 3x18650 C/C body and contemplating if I should get it and if so, what P60 LED obviously drop-in module will work great with either 3x18650 (12V) *or* 6x123 (18V).

Thought #1 is to contact Malkoff, request a custom 18V M61 SHO or something to that effect. Will probably have zero resale value because nobody runs these modules at 18V and it will be unable to run in "regular" 6Ps.

Not that I care about resale value.

Thought #2 Find a P60 drop-in that can do that. Scanning my inventory, I already have a P60 module that can do that and it's ultra-violet at 365NM. Wonder if I should dedicate it to that purpose or find something way cooler. It has no issues at 4x123 or 12V and I hardly ever use it anyway.

Thoughts, or just forget the 3x18650 configuration as not all that practical? Remember, sometimes the customer is not always right.

Of course it is but I want a light that will run on either 3x18650 *or* 6x123. "Six".

Meaning if I ever run out of charged Li-IOn on a trip, I want the convenience of sticking primaries in it.

Or deal with SHO and a spacer to end up with 4x123 in a 6x123 body. Not really optimum, if I have to do that, I will just stick with regular 2x18650 bodies.

However that requirement seems to tall that I am almost at the point of abandoning it.
I am sure you can find a cheap P60 LED module that allegedly support 18V. No heat sinking, no potting under $20 and will probably burn out from heat at some point.
