You can fake a momentary on by turning the light on and unscrewing the tailcap a little.

She might just like the Civictor V1. No multilevels, but it's simple, cheap, and about as small a 1 watt AA as you'll find.

Is the Pierce light still around? A while ago that seemed to be a great AA light, though a bit pricy, IIRC.

It's a wonderful light but it's CR123 powered
