Hi all
I bought a Romisen XP-g R5 a while ago but it packed in fairly quickly
I stripped it today to find a wound coil behind the reflector that looked to be overheated, losing the lacquer shielding, it was loosely wound and I could move it about a bit so I got the wife to get some nail varnish out for me, I coated the wire with it and blew on it a little to dry it then rebuilt it..
I replaced the 14500 battery and it lit up immediately!!!
A shorted coil was all that was wrong with it for the year that it's been thrown in the drawer!, hopefully the deep red devil: ) nail varnish will be a bit more heat resistant than the lacquer that is made for the job
It's a very handy little torch burt it runs very hot after a while :duh2:
Cheers, John
