So you can see the reflection on the table with the lights on low which was interesting.

While on the white table you can see the temp range as well as the effect of the boost as these are all on the second mode and the left most light is stock and a bit more dim than the other 3.

So this pic is on level 3 output. Stock does not capture well and looks less blue due to its lesser output. Definitely more blue visually, but being washed out by the others higher output.

Final pic is stock on its own. Level 3

Same order for puzzle pics (yes, my child found the front end of the school bus delicious)

6500k (does not show as well since others have their drivers boosted, much more blue than in pic)
5000k
4000k
2900k high CRI

So in brief, I personally would recommend going with the 4000k for the neutral crowd.

1) The 5000k that I received is a great tint for those looking to take the edge off that blue. I was honestly surprised by how much I liked it over the stock LED. It does come really close to what some say is pure white when side by side with the stock light.

2) The 2900k High CRI is interesting and confusing to me. At times I like it and at other times I do not. I sometimes see it as extremely orange-ish and other times see it as showing colors well. Compare it to my lights in my house and it is less orange when side by side so I should be more than fine with it. I don't know, just confused. :)

What I may ask for in my remaining 3 stock lights is "no-boost" if possible. Reason being is to keep the lowest level as low as possible. You can see from the pics that the boost does make a difference. And though I love my firefly and my retina burning levels, for EDC, priority has to go to firefly.

Just my thoughts...hope it helps some people make a better decision as to what is right for them. :)

And run time.

Are you building these lights to aim more for throw then? (hence the word "searchlight") Maybe I missed it, some beamshots in the trees would be great

looking for some opinions on this. I ordered an S1 through dazed's group buy and I love it. its pretty awesome for a stock light. I also just ordered the Toolvn also....is it worth it to get this S1vn version too? actually I just gave away the stock S1 to a friend who is also into flashlights.

I love the S1vn. Totally worth it to me. A boost and a tint change.

can you comment the throw and the strength of the stock magnet?

Strange...I replied using tapatalk and I guess it didn't show.

Well, it's a 2" light. Not going to get a football field of throw out of this one. The optic does a larger than normal hot spot which is nice. I am a city/suburban EDC person so I don't need more than 50 feet. Most of the time don't need more than 15 feet.

Magnet is extremely strong on these. Actually had 2 of them click together an shattered one of them into 4 pieces. Seems a little overkill, but it definitely works to stick it to anything.

Thanks. I bought a small holster from Mtn Electronics and it is a little large for my SL2Cvn but works. It's way to big for the S1vn. Do you have this holster and how's it fit?

I just ordered a ton of holsters. I wil report hwo they work. Should be perfect for SL2 and SL2C. S1vn is too small for holsters anyways.
