Been away for awhile, Seoul p4 were the hot emitters then. I noticed alot of good comments on the R2 and it's advantage of runtime due to efficiency. Anyone with a quick primer on the positives or negatives of the latest bins and merits of the R2, so I can catch up again.

I loved the P4 for the nice broad beam it provided, so I am still partial. Unless I learn of the benefits of the R2.

Thanks.

I like my SSC P4s and I like my Cree XR-E R2s

The SSCs are the better choice for smooth reflectors.

The Cree XR-E R2s look really nasty on a white wall with smooth reflectors.
The rings were so bad in a drop-in I built that I dismantled it and plan on rebuilding it with a SSC P4 U2 bin.

I think Cree XR-Es may be going away soon, now that the Cree XP-E and XP-G LEDs have arrived.

For throw, the XR-E beats the XP-E and XP-G.

That probably didn't help one bit :ohgeez:

That really shows how long I've been away. I didn't even know about the Rebels until I saw a reference to them used on the new M*gs.

I need to find a reference between the Lumileds, Cree and Seoul tech to catch up.
