I am unable to unscrew the tailcap of my Nitecore MT26. I keep this light in the car and probably didn't lube it regularly as other lights I use on a daily basis.
The head comes off just fine and even smoothly. The tailcap, however, is stuck.

Any suggestions on what I could do to unscrew it?
For now I want to avoid using a vice - which I don't have anyway - or similar devices not to damage the light.

Thanks in advance.

Take the head off and remove the battery and run the tailcap under very hot water, or heat it up with a heat gun or hair dryer.

Then use a rubber strap wrench to twist it off. You can also use pliers around the rubber strap around the tailcap to protect the flashlight finish.

Go slow, take your time. You'll figure it out.

I would also suggest a few drops of penetrating oil. When you get the tail cap off you likely will need to replace the O ring.

You might want to try some vice grips. Wrap the flashlight with cloth so as not to damage the finish.
