An Audemars without all the bling still goes for around $10k.

Don't disrespect that brand because it's expensive. It has among the world's best quality movement (better than Rolex) and has quite a bit of history and ingenuity in it.

AP watches are NOT quartz.

Here are some links so that you guys can better appreciate what goes into those expensive ultra-lux swiss watches such as Audemars Piguet, Patek Philippe, and Vacheron.

Actually, AP does make a few quartz watches.

I really want a ROO with a rubber bezel, but they only run about $15,000.

PhotonBoy For the money, you'd think it would be waterproof instead of just water resistant.

You are paying for the craftsmanship, quality, and it's limited availability.

I'd take it if he could ship it to me for approval and would accept my personal check on the Russian Farmer's and Merchant's Bank of Uzbekistan?...

$45k watch and they didnt clean it off before they took pictures??! Yeah...I wonder why it is dirty on the back anyhow.

But he says he'll "wash" it off before shipping, so that makes it ok.:grin2:

HELL NO. i won't trust it :)

meep. for that price, i rather have a custom made watch made of titanium and have titanium aluminium nitride as the coating.

super scratch resistance. tritiums all round in the watch will be way cool :)

If I actually wore it, no one would believe it was worth that much. It looks like costume jewelry!!

APs, that is without the diamonds and crap are great watches. The AP Royal Oak is probably the ultimate sport watch. They are several quality levels above Rolex as pointed out and have historically, and still are one of the top 3 or 4 brands in the world. Some models of AP, such as tourbillon or minute repeater models go for a lot more than $144,000 and arent fuglied up with diamonds (rhinestones?).

Scroll down and check the sports watch here, model: Tourbillon 25969PT.OO.1105PT.01

List price of $379,000 but you can have it for under $265,000. And that is a legit dealer by the way.

I'd take at least one of the "diamonds" off and have it mounted in one of my toofs. Buh-ling buh-ling, baby.

I bet the adhesive on the back is from the "Made in China" sticker.
