Wow... someone just pointed me to this thread... sorry lately my head has been
buried in order processing and packaging and I hadn't the luxury of
browsing CPF for enjoyment like I used to. I just work all day processing,
shipping and taking care of customers and at 5pm I just collapse and spend
time with my kids.

Heres the official low-down on those so-called L0D RB100's.
Unless they have "premium 100" engraving on the side of the head, they
are not RB100's. I confronted Fenix directly and they specifically told me
that this dealer did not have RB100's and those numbers are NOT from Fenix.
Unfortunately, I personally believe that he made those numbers up to
deceive customers.

Now to the existence of rebel 100 L0D's. Well, yes they do exist in VERY
low quantities. Pro light japan sent in their own rebel 100 parts and
had a very small run made. I mean VERY small. In fact I am told
they are all sold out. Other than that, Fenix has told me NOONE ELSE
has L0D Premium 100's (RB100's). So thats the official word.

About the RB80's and RB100's being similar... I have an explanation.
I was told by Fenix direct that for many of the batches of RB80's,
they ran out of the RB80 parts and had to use RB90's instead.
They may be using all RB90's too... I'm not sure. That would explain
the reason why they are close.

Please don't ask if you got/or are getting RB80's or RB90's because I
don't know and cannot tell :) I can only tell you that you have
a minimum 80 lm/w part :)

Cheers,

Please confirm that the advertised Fenix LOD rebel100 is in fact a 100 series emitter, as Fenix is denying any existance of such lights
Thank you

I think all this "exclusive" stuff actually hurts rather than helps dealers. I would prefer to buy all my Fenix's from 4Sevens (and had until today...) but when other dealers have higher-output/binned LED/special edition/whatchamacallitwizbangaroo/etc...
It's a shame that the fact that other dealers are willing to fabricate output numbers while 4Sevens isn't, causes some people to buy from those dealers. But I suppose that's the way it's always been -- creative (dishonest) marketing works for a certain segment of the population. (The technique works exceptionally well in politics, too, for much the same reason.) Judging by the number of people I see here who routinely quote lumen "ratings" and alleged battery capacity as fact without question, that segment must be pretty large because presumably CPFers are better informed than the general public. I hope there are enough people who aren't fooled, or at least who view manufacturer and dealer claims with a healthy dose of skepticism, to keep the good honest dealers like Fenix-Store in business and successful. Hang in there, 4Sevens!
