Put this No in on ebay 251179837033 ,i paid less though but they are about.
Still stocked in UK shops but £80-£90..........
Its not a bad light, the size /weight feels spot on in the hand, the beam is not best for my work needs being honest but with a diffuser it makes it better.
It wont be over popular because of the "lumen's" ,in fact its one of the least brightest i own but its enough for most general use.I may just get a lenser t7.2 as that is perfect for work being able to flood/spot with 1 hand ,very user friendly. My thinking on the fenix was run time with the D batteries, will see how i get on.........worse case its a truck edc light:D so nothing lost.Less run time with the t7.2 as 4x AAA batts,as said free anyway in work so again not end of world.
I may decide in future to send vinh to make it more floody........
I have a Lambda 2D Maglite designed to run on 2D cells with a simple single mode driver that gets close to 3amps to the LED so the only limitation would be the Fenix drivers in the TK50. Depends how much Vinh can bump the current up. Of course if you aren't using Nimh D cells then sticking with the XPG would probably be best. Alkaline batteries would not handle the current draw for very long (couple minutes at best) and then your light would keep getting dimmer.
As for a Lux number on the TK60vn I will go out on a limb and say over 100K at 1 meter and I wouldn't be surprised if it was a fair amount more. I'm very impressed with the throw and working with Vinh to see if he can get more current to the LED in Turbo mode.
Let me know what Vinh comes up with for your TK50, I will be very interested.
ok, tk50 came on Tuesday..!!! it's xpg2, current bumped up 0.8A. comparing with the stock, i estimate about 60kLux, with real nice solid throw.
i'm going to compare it with the tk41 on Sunday.
may upload some foto, if i can...
Great stuff, look forward to the pics:D
Photos would be awesome. Sounds like he did a good job on the light.
That's pretty sweet. Any estimate on the lumens coming out of it with an xp-g2?
i need to borrow a camera from a friend beforeGreat stuff, look forward to the pics:D
just compared the tk50modded with the tk41 and out throws it easily. i think about 70-klux, maybe more...
took some pics, i'm going to upload, but the definition craps... i will try with another camera
