The one that's currently on their site out of stock just shows it compatible with their drop-ins in a Mag. So makes me wonder.

Yea, only thing I didn't like about them is that none of them said "Surefire USA" on the tailcap.
And I have never been fond of the newer style logo either.
It didn't just say "www.surefire.com"? Must have been in one of the older blister packs then.

I still have a few new in the package around here myself. Not to mention bags of switch parts, reflectors etc. I even have a couple Hard Coat anodized from one of my group buys over a decade ago lol. And one safe queen custom camouflage ano that I have yet to build out. Let's not forget how fun they were to mod, Good times!

I did everything on a lathe. Probably on my old Southbend I had at the time. I sold that many years ago though and bought a 13x40 tool room lathe.
last year I picked up a couple C custom tails made by @Icarus. they were mislabeled as being made by a diff user. someday I'll get around to using them

That looks like someone tried to design a tailcap with a switch actuator even harder to use than the one on my stock Malkoff MD2. I hope it's not.last year I picked up a couple C custom tails made by @Icarus. they were mislabeled as being made by a diff user. someday I'll get around to using them

Unfortuntely that doesn't make mine easy to use. It's not the switch that's the primary issue - I'm sure it's a fine switch - it's the overall tailcap design / dimensional details.
There's a 'tri-cap' version sitting in the box unopened on my dining room table as I type. I hope it will render the light usable by my hands. Fingers crossed (but hopefully not thumb disjointed;-). I'm also hoping it may help reduce the light tending to want to slip forward out of my hand while pushing said button. TBD. Fortunately, I have a 'plan B' in case this proves futile.
Let us know how you like that switch after you start using it.

I should also add that size / scale matters, and even if proportions are the same, as seen in a photo, the diameter of the light is also a major factor. Proportions that work at one scale may not work on something larger or smaller. The MD2 I'm referring to is obviously a smaller form, so they might appear similar but be apples and oranges to use. I've learned that I'm never gonna know for sure if something works for me until I get it in my hand.
I have the Malkoff adapter for d cell Maglites. I got it mainly for the m61 500 lumens for 10 hrs in a 6d, but thought I'd see if a p60 or p90 would fit. Unfortunately p60/p90 drop ins have a reflector that's slightly wider than an m61 so the adapter doesn't screw back together properly. It's a real shame. A 6d powered p90 would've been great!
