That was the C7 specs, I'm betting the C8 ZR1 will be the same 5.5 from the Z06 just twin turbo and upwards of 800hp.

The "unthinkable" part is no other US maker besides Cadillac has ever had a twin turbo V8 performance car and more that 755HP. The CT6V had a 4.2L TTV8 in a big heavy sedan and was only rated for 500-525HP. So I'm betting the C8 ZR1 is the first TTV8 US made car with more than 755HP.

Just read it is a twin turbo w/ over 1000hp & 828 torque

..over 1800 combined torque/horsepower is______:eek::eek:

Sebring Orange, Sky Grey interior, carbon wheels, carbon aero package, every carbon interior option, I've got an extra kidney and an appendix I'm not really using if GM takes that as payments. Just sayin'.

At this point and time in my life, I'd opt for the Cadillac with the automatic transmission ... IF money wasn't an issue.

Saw a CT5-V just today, at a nearby shop. The guy had just pulled in. Gave him a smile and a nod, noting the cool ride. Good-looking car. Haven't driven one of the "V" vehicles, but I'm assuming they drive really nicely. Only a cool ~$130K cash, for a new 2024.

My Better 3/4s and I purchased our first and only home in 1985 for 85k. Our low mileage, V8, 2009 CTS, a 65k car when new, became ours when it was five years old for the greatly reduced price of 20k. So, obviously, spending $130k on an automobile is not within my paradigm. 😁

I bet that 10 sp auto hits hard throughout low gears. Chevy Turbo 400 is my fav tranny. Manual trans clutches are high maintenance, not to mention the workout 😎
Those 10 speed automatics are like being launched by a rubber band. You hardly feel any shift at all.

Hit the throttle and you'd better be aimed where you want to go 'cause you're going there in a hurry.

I had an F-150 4x4 quad cab with one and holy mackeral! That truck was pretty freakin' fast from 0-60. Shifting was silky smooth if you were a lead foot. Driving it like grandma (like I typically do) it was not so smooth.

Ford and GM use the same 10 speed transmission.

I knew a guy back in 1976 who owned a '63 Stingray. He said he never had a moment's peace when driving it. People were constantly asking him to pull over and then asking him to sell it to them.
I believe it. When I had mine in the early 70's I was pulled over by a cop who just wanted to BS about it. Got me out of more than a few speeding tickets too.

"Speaking" of tickets - Another guy I knew when growing up saved all his pennies and saved all his dimes ... then he purchased a 409 Bel-Air sport coup. One day he was putting the petal to the metal and whaling the wand when he flew past a parked sheriff's car. My friend, Bob, immediately pulled over, threw open the hood of his car, tore the air cleaner housing off the dual quads and threw it to the side of the road all the while cussing up a storm. The officer approached Bob but he kept cussing at the car and pretending to work on the linkage. Bob eventually looked around and said that he was unaware of the officer's presence and that the #/%!> carburetors had stuck open.

No ticket was issued. :yellowlaugh:

For a $100K, I'll take a mint condition Corvair and put a well mapped 2.5L turbo in the back w/ 5-speed manual.
Have the suspension overhauled by Penske (obviously a bit more negative camber in the back)

Maybe have a few bucks left over

Actually I got more people asking to buy my restored '69 Z/28 when I drove it around. It had the top end (heads, intake, carb) from a Winston West NASCAR engine (Ruben Garcia) and looked pretty stock and but sounded awesome.
