Man I find his stuff over rated. The only reason I'm watching Yellowstone is because I want to see Beth die a horrible painful death. Unfortunately I know this wont happen because there is now talk of her being in a potential season 6. Lioness is just social posturing with no real knowledge of tactical information. The guy cant even tell the difference between a Blackhawk and Apache helicopter.

Last year took a gamble on a series I knew nothing about;
just went for it, not wanting to look up reviews ect..
Was I blown away, seriously could not have imagined how good it could be in story/cinematography/acting/cast...
The reason I didn't post, it challenges beliefs and religion to a certain degree.
I'll say this, if you watch it to the very end & say it wasn't a great series, I'd say you were lying to yourself.

I've been watching Star Trek the orginal series recently.
When my kids come by and watch it with me it's fun to watch them react to the almost animated scenes taking place. Captain Kirk drop kicks a wall in order to elbow drop a bad guy got quite the reaction recently.
With all of the attempts at realism in modern television it's nice to just be entertained just for entertainment's sake. Now as an old guy who saw television begin to cross lines formerly uncrossed in the late 60's and early 70's I can see subtle cues of rules being broken on the television screen in Star Trek that the youngsters don't even recognize. Ladies with mini skirts, men with genitle revealing trousers, hippies, inter-racial couples and even the word "hell" used a few times.
It was part of the reason conventional wisdom scoffed at the show at that time. I remember a time in summer we'd all stop playing hide and seek to go inside and watch what we called "Star Trak" and later it came on tv after school along with Batman, Leave it to Beaver and another rule breaker the Flinstones, which began as adult entertainment.

I remember Star Trek when it first came out on british TV in the early seventies (IIRC). We had seen nothing like it before. It was described by Gene Roddenberry as "Wagon Train in space". Now I've never seen that but I immediately got the analogy. I was and am still a great fan. Well, until the latest series went all woke.

There's a New Zealand cop series called The Brokenwood Mysteries which we are liking quite a lot right now. The accent might be difficult for US viewers but its gentle fun. Worth a try.
We just finished the first season of Fargo. WOW! :eek:
"Fargo" does well to follow the "True Detectives" playbook. Each season is a stand alone miniseries.
Season 1 is the best, hands down. So cool how they re imagined the movie's characters as a distinctly different individuals from their movie counterparts. It was as if the writers said "what if we made that one character surprisingly resourceful. How would that go?" I wonder if that's what got the Coen bros to sign on as executive producers.
I thought the last two seasons were pretty bad. Season 5 was nonsense. I still feel disrespected for being tricked into watching it. I'd say the same about "True Detectives."

IMHO; First was great, but goes downhill fast from there.
Relative to many TV series, all seasons of Fargo ranks way above many.
We finished the first season of Fargo and decided to switch to watching Your Honor. So far, all four episodes have given me a stomach ache. It's that intense.

The better half and I have been binge watching a lot of British shows on the amazon fire. Not because we are anglophiles, but because it is what amazon presents us with to watch, and we have already seen a lot of USA TV shows. The only problem is understanding the British accents (Cockney should be illegal).

We in the UK have seen a lot of American and other countries' stuff for many years now so we have had a lot more exposure to accents. Keep going - you will get used to it. Mind you a lot of our output is too woke so you will have to be very selective. We just started to watch Mayor of Kingstown and I'm sorry to say that we needed the subtitles.
To be fair, I can't hear half of what my wife says so age might be an issue!
Anything Irish I need subtitles for. And Scotish, the subtitles need subtitles. I do ok with British once I understand the lingo.
Season 3 of Star Trek original series about halfway this does not seem as good as season 2 but better than season 1. Season 1 was the rookie year but was impactful enough for the audience to want more. All of those miniskirts and Kirk's torn shirt. How will it be ripped this week and will Yoman Janice finally get laid.
Season 2 was just more entertaining. Not all episodes, but there were some real gems. The giant glowing planet eating turd, belly dancers, a robot that snuffs out impure carbon based creatures, and tribbles to name a few. Yoman Janice still hasn't found love.
Season 3 seems like they're trying to recapture the magic of season 2 or something. It's just not as entertaining. By season 3 the actors were polished and solid performers so it's too bad they didn't have better written scripts to follow. Either way it's a step back in time that's been fun to binge on and Yoman Janice never did find true love. One thing it did do was predict the Joe Biden administration.

I had a big crush on her in HS watching 'The Avengers'.
Every Canadian I know hates that show......
