Nope. Not flashlight related at all. Complete divergence from flashlights.
Here is the Nestout Flash-1 attached to one of their battery banks with the screw in tripod to hold it and their fan as well. Tossed in the Photon Phreaks HDSRB and some other random toys for the photo.

I completely discharged the AW 750 mAh until the cell protection kicked in. I charged it, X2 shows 181 mAh, 4.08 V
The micro test is ready, it took a few days. First about CR123. The sticker and packaging is from a local company, but in reality it's a rebranding, like 90% of everything here, the manufacturer - Guangdong Liwang New Energy Co., Ltd.
The release date is 02.2024 - 02.2034
Voltage: 3.20, 3.11, 3.08, 3.16
I thought maybe it was because of the manufacturing quality, or maybe the batteries were stored incorrectly. I don't know, but they are definitely not suitable for a comparative test. They are fine for normal use, but not for testing. I charged and tested my 16340's on NLT and found out that they also seem to have different capacities. The times for 4 were like this:

So I decided to do a test on 2*16340 battery. I took Robiton #1 and Vapcell #2 so as not to wait too long and ran it through all the lights twice, measuring how much energy the charger put into them:

I'm not good at math, but we can estimate how many mA a flashlight consumes, for example. NLT, 33 min (0.55 h) on 325 lm, 540 mAh, that is 981 mA, the second time on the same battery it comes out to 1100 mA. Why such a spread, I think maybe because of errors - the time was recorded by different clocks, rounded to the minute, the battery was charged a little differently each time - in different places there is a different network, in some places 200V, in some places 240V, maybe this somehow affected the charger? The temperature also changed, and in 1 place there was a constant draft from the window
They promise 1 W batteries. It all depends on the price, if it is acceptable, then you can connect 2 or 4 batteries in parallel and you will have awesome 2-4 W flashlight that will last for the rest of your life. For speleologists, 1 battery will be enough. Also all this can be tightly sealed and used for deep divers
OD Gaffers tape. Hides marks and provides a nice grippy feel. Easily replaced without leaving residue

@Hogokansatsukan for this future AA ready HDS, do you think the length will remain the same/similar to the current cr123 configuration? Curious to how big of an overhaul or design change it will be. Just a slightly longer tube?

will there be 1.5V AA capability in the HDS driver?
the new body is 18500, the present body is 16340.. iow the new body is 2mm wider and 10mm longer..

If everything stays the same in regards to the head and the tail, the body might be 16mm longer. As for the body width, I'm convinced that the circumference matters more than the width, because if the walls maintain their thickness, the 2mm cell diameter increase would increase the circumference by 6mm. Not much, but it would change the ergonomics of the light. I currently have the "18650" tube on my SPL120 Nova, and it's drastically different from the standard 16340 body.

the present head and tail will not lego to the new body.. the new head and tail are wider, to match the wider body

I no longer have my 18650 rotary body to measure, neither do I have a 18500 nor 18350 body to verify; but IIRC, the bodies that accommodate 18mm diameter cells are bored wider internally than the standard 16340 body. The wall appeared thinner when I drilled and tapped for clip screws; also, the signaling wire was exposed along its length and not fully shrouded in the wall.
Edit: now reading @jon_slider’s comment, I’m guessing the new body will be overall wider in diameter to maintain wall thickness and avoid an exposed signaling wire?

Took kids to movies to his morning and as movies ended lady in front of me dropped her phone and had slid down behind the seats somewhere in front. Well, it was my time to shine, whipped out my HDS and searched for her phone, found it and she was super thrilled. She would have been searching for a long time since we were basically the only ones in there and I was the last person that happened to have a light on me.

I had the opposite experience some years ago: my flashlight fell out of my pocket at a nighttime event, and a friend helped me find it with the lamp on her cellphone.
