Hmm - this sounds similar in action to using a tablespoon of cider vinegar to stop hiccups. It's horrid but it works for me.
One thing that always works for me is a very large glass of room-temp. water.
Wait for a hiccup to hit, then immediately afterwards start chugging that water without stopping at all. You stop when the glass is empty. You'll feel like you are drowning. But you end up drowning your hiccups into submission, instead. Okay, no clue what scientifically happens inside the human body. I just know it works every single time. But again, a huge amount of water. Minimum, 22 fluid ounces.

The latest theory is it calms the spasms of the diaphragm since you aren't breathing while you swallow. No breathing = fewer chance for spasm. Just theory, however. We can split an atom, but can't definitively explain why those happen!

It's the salt content. The salt transfers to the muscles, goes across the cellular membranes, and "calms" the muscular contractions which we feel as cramps. Dill pickle juice does the same and is another great, fast-acting option.
But pickle juice also contains a ton of vinegar...i don't think it's the salt, the mustard works way too fast for intramuscular absorption. It's quite literally immediate, within 10 seconds....even with a heavily electrolytic drink, it takes around 5 minutes for cramps to stop for me.

Just give it a shot, I think you'll be inclined to believe that it's probably nerve related based on the quickness of the results...

You're absolutely right about the quick response and it being nerve related. The mechanism is a little different than most people realize, however. Fast electrolyte transfer across those nerve cell membranes is what changes contraction and leads to the muscle effects. Vinegar, on the other hand, is acid and acid is not great for muscles. In fact, lactic acid (formed from cellular activity without Oxygen) actually causes muscle pain. That's why people who are having heart attacks have chest pain. The buildup of acid in the cells causes pain. We give medications like Nitroglycerin to increase blood flow, which causes less acid formation and less chest pain.

I'll defer to you, I'm not a medical professional. I've just never seen electrolytes affect (or totally eliminate) a cramp in seconds when administered orally, like with food.

Lactic acidosis

They can't even carry on a face-to-face casual conversation.
It's getting worse too! They're infecting older generations.
Had a guy walk up to me a couple of days back. Easily older than I am.
I'm at my 3rd Shift job, in uniform. He walks up, says "325."
I ask him "what?" He repeats the numbers. To clarify, guy was not insane nor drunk.

I called him out on his nonsense. I told him he was just spewing numbers at me.
And, that's not how adults communicate. I had to ask him questions.
Regarding why he was there, whom he was there to see. Where he needed to go.
Then I directed him properly, to Suite 325. I'm done with these rude idiots.
If they can't communicate properly, like adults; I'll treat them like children.
Don't care if they're older than I am. He was definitely old enough to know better.

I would have been temped to answer him with "6 7"
