Been raining off and on a bit for several days. Which I'm very happy about as basically all of the snow in my neighborhood has melted.

So I was looking forward to catching some warm weather on a family vacation to Disneyland/Knotts Berry Farm next week and it turns out it's gonna be warm here while we're gone!

The forecast for my area is lit up like a Christmas tree with all the Warnings.
Today a High Wing Warning with gusts up to 60mph, that's only 14mph from hurricane speed.
The big one is a MASSIVE winter storm over the weekend, it'll easily be the largest for the season, talking 2 feet of snow just north of me.
Huge problem in that'll it be wet snow and strong winds. (I have alot of enormous trees on my property)
Not going to candy coat it, concerned

@orbital : I hope that works out for you. Is it normal out there to trim back trees before storm season out there?
FWIW, hurricanes are 74mph sustained winds. Gusts don't count. BIG difference between sustained vs gust, especially when it comes to damage.
We had sustained winds of 140 mph sustained at my place during Hurricane Ian, 150 mph sustained just up the coast from me at Cayo Costa. A NOAA drone read 216 mph at one point.

I found out we are heading for temps at a 107F by next Saturday. Mid March, and we're already at triple digits.

I wish I was in a position to build a few watering holes / troughs for the animals. Over the years, I've personally watched them looking for water. Just su*ks!
Our underground water reserves are low. We're getting our allocation of Colorado RIver water cut (I don't have the current status on the allocation), AND Phoenix is building, as well as attempting to approve building more Data Centers.

for what it's worth, tropical storm force winds from Thurs. night to around 7pm Fri.
My trees are trimmed rather high off the ground, although tall.
Two of my trees have branches that are bigger than most tree trunks around here,, they are freakish., seriously

This week -- Cool mornings, almost-warm afternoons. Definitely lovely springtime weather, right now.
Daffodils are up all over the place, in my area. The dogwood trees are all in flower. Even some of the magnolias are beginning to show. Grasses have begun to grow, again, and are getting fairly green. Most trees seem to be producing lots of leaves, and everything is losing that winter grayness.
Still a bit of a risk of frosts, but that's fading. After early- to mid-April, that's a rarity.
Lots of little projects outdoors to accomplish, once it's warmer.

I hear you. I lived in SoCal until 5 years ago and I'm planning on taking it nice & easy...
With the cold winter, the oak trees have all decided to drop their pollen simultaneously. The most recent rainstorm knocked it all down. This car was spotless before the last rainstorm. Just a 10 minute rain the car was covered. This picture was taken after 10 minutes of driving. Prior to that the entire car was covered in about 1" of pollen.
