Okay. So I got the new band for the Khaki Auto 42 Ti. It is awesome, but I'm in a ciger bar having a scotch so this is the best I can do for now.

I've been thinking about getting one of those Casio digital watches that sell in the $30-$50 range with a steel bracelet. Is there a particular model of those that is the "hot ticket"? A168W or B650 perhaps?

I like my AE1200. It's a plastic body, with a steel "bracelet", but it's moreso aesthetic than comfortable
Yep, definitely the AE1200 World Time.
For a fully digital watch, incredible value and top choice
Even though the bracelet is thin and the case is "faux-metal" they are incredibly hardy, very functional, and seem to run forever. As a bonus, the watch is so light that it doesn't feel like you are even wearing one.
I know that G-Shocks are very popular but, for me, I much prefer the World Time.
Speaking of Digital Casio and G-Shock. I was going to revive my old 5600E from 1987 by replacing the battery and cleaning. Broke the case instead. Darnit!

I have been using a Suunto Clipper compass on my non-sensor G-Shocks for years. Thought I'd try this titanium compass. I may not be a keeper. Although I did use it today to align the Starlink at work.
But at least I'm not this guy!

I would refer to those larger compasses and overladen watches as "barnacles", lol...like the guy says in the video with one addendum...Wear them ON the jacket, not over it.

Now that's a great looking watch. Very clean design with a touch of elegance in its simplicity. I really like the hands and offset crown as well.

The Day/Date at 3 O'clock is an underrated feature in my book and seldom seen is dress/formal watches. The older I get the handier I find it. Knowing the DAY has often been more useful to me than the date.

It's not my watch. Are you thinking of the Reinterpretation? It had a protected or more protected crown IIRC.
