The good news is the water in the lake seems to be down 18" compared to last night and there still is no sign of water in the basement. The bad news is we are expecting thunderstorms for the rest of the week according to the weather network. Who knows how accurate that will be.

Stuck my SC13 to the convection oven's door to light up the inside of the blender cup. Last time, some pieces of a whole frozen banana didn't blend right and stuck to the wall of the blender cup, but this time slicing them into thinner wheels worked much better. The SC13's beam helped me see it even through the thick mix.
We're currently at a late 1960s / early 1970s place on the beach. As typical for the era, it has a wonderful lawn right along the beach. So we sat out tonight for over an hour after sunset. Nice strong breeze. Despite it coming up on a holiday weekend, we had the place to ourselves. It's sea turtle season, so they have the outdoor lights turned off.
I used my Wurkkos TS10 Max to get us back upstairs. It's amazing how bright these little lights have become over the years.
With lights beachside turned off all along the beach, it's surprising how bright any amount of light is out there. Even the TS10 Max on its lowest setting was adequate. I still cranked it up a bit more for our use.

Last night I clipped my ZL H600fc to my pants pocket for hands free lighting. Wanted to try the beam at a lower level to see how it works.

I was trying to repair a broken desk light stand at work when a tiny black setscrew went flying. Found it under the desk with my PD36R.

The TS10 Max got used tonight.
We sat outside for awhile after sunset again. It was a bit cooler tonight, with a nice, steady breeze
After an hour or so my fiancée started to get cold, so we headed back upstairs, only to find this little guy hanging around on the stairs. I tried to move him but he wasn't having it, so he can find his way back to the beach.

Got my Wurkkos FC12C unboxed. Used it on my 3rd shift job during the previous shift. Foot-patrol of the client's massive parking lots. Found nothing unusual. Light is supposed to be geared for throw. Nope! General purpose lighting chores. Good blend of both throw and flood.

What color temp does your FC12C have? I've become so spoiled by the neutral/warm LEDs with higher CRIs available now that I've started avoiding anything 6500K anymore.
I did have a rather nasty crab case to deal with many years ago. At my main condo, you walk through a small beach, through an estuary, to reach the real beach. Well, a big blue crab had set up shop right near the pathway in the estuary. He absolutely defended his turf against any passerby. We all got in the habit of bringing a stick or keys on a lanyard, let the crab clamp onto it, then fling him away. It was this way for a couple of months until someone decided he'd make a tasty dinner and that was the end of the angry blue crab.

I used my PD36R today to illuminate an IC on an LED lighting controller board so I could get a decent picture of it. I needed to find the datasheet on it to figure out what the board was doing.
6500K printed right on the box. I love my Cool Whites. Quick blast of that, you see everything! Though my Peak Logan S.S. model is very warm indeed.... And has turned into a headache of a project light (which it was never meant to be).
Speaking of my Wurkkos FC12C.... Two nights ago, 3rd Shift job, I nearly tore off my rear bumper backing into a spot at work. There was a short-height curb, and just behind it a much taller frickin' exposed tree root. Well, I have a car, not an SUV. So didn't realize the root got hooked. Thought it was just the curb as I slowly moved forward. Driver's side portion of the bumper hanging low. Popped it back in place, best I could and grabbed some pricey 3M duct tape I keep in my car. Did a good patch job on my 2009 Mazda 6, V6, sSport trim. Looks ugly but it's holding. Hate admitting it but 3M makes some quality duct tape. Summer? Body shops are flooded with clients who want their dented up cars to look nice for the Summer season. I'm waiting to take care of it and another dent once Winter arrives and the body shops have nearly no customers. More for turn-around time than saving some money.
Which brings me to last night at my 3rd shift job....
I drive in through one of the open gates. Not a tree remotely near me. I run over something. It's under my car, it's making a scraping sound. It's loud, it's horrible. I'm reminded of two nights ago! Drive a bit more. Sound stops. It's raining, I'm in the middle of the parking lot just before 11pm. Put my car in Park. Jump out! Don't bother closing the door. My FC12C is in my hand before I even think about grabbing it out of my pants pocket! Switch it on, highest setting always turns on, first. I check.... large, crocked, tree-branch sitting right where I was just driving. Frickin' lazy as hell maintenance crew! I pick it up and fling it! Lately, every day, it's this type of stupid nonsense I have to deal with. Thankfully, my car is very mechanically sound.

I'm using 2×Xtar clr4300 in my Yuji dropped-in minimag...the cells provide the regulation from 1.5V each to whatever the safety cutoff is. I believe I used about 150mAh worth in another light prior...But the runtime test started at 6pm earlier tonight, it's now 10:40pm as of this post.
If anyone has some insight into what the current draw would be, that'd be great because my DMM is SOL.

I bought a spray can of dielectric grease the other day. While setting up today to do a comparison of two different types of this substance, the little red nozzle straw shot off into outer space. I got out my PD36R and looked everywhere for it to no avail.
I think it's hovering somewhere over Wisconsin right about now.

Looking for a very tiny screw that I dropped. Even in normal daylight, I find that with a powerful flashlight, it can be much easier to find a tiny screw on the tile floor and especially on a rug.

Felt nostalgic for The Screecher, an official mod for Don't Starve - yes, official, it was made by Klei themselves - and sort of a "flashlight simulator".
To get into the mood, I picked up my Convoy T7 2700K and set up my bedroom so that it was my only light source. It's on the small side, but otherwise it emulates an old incan flashlight reasonably well.

I'm using my Wurkkos CL01 to read and write postcards for Postcrossing.com tonight while my better half is sleeping soundly.
She had a sleep study tonight at the hospital and in the middle of the night had a panic attack from all of the wires, straps, sensors, hoses, so I rushed over, picked her up, and held her, rubbing her back until she fell asleep.
That said, I don't think I've ever seen a hospital room this nice before. For that matter, it's nicer than the hotel room we normally stay in nearby:

Used my Wurkkos FC12C to kick out yet another trespasser parked against The Wall. Part of The Wall, a huge section of it is fenced in (temporary) as part of a Construction zone at work. People still park against it! Younger dude, in the backseat. Clearly getting ready to sleep. Not on my watch! I politely kicked him out. He politely agreed to leave, and did.
I'm over by the cafe that is inside the building. Accordion style gate across the cafe entrance. I hear whispered voices from inside. But it sounds wrong. Yes, there is a massive, hidden, cemetery across the expressway from the building, past the woods. No, it wasn't Spirits. Some clown left the radio on in the cafe. But thankfully had it cranked down. Just to be sure, shined my FC12C inside, highest setting. Back and forth with my light. No one in there.
Third one.... Building owner's wife decided to put Jenga, checkers, and Chess games out on the elevated tables for folks to play with. After three weeks, the Jenga and checkers boards and pieces were all stolen. No one stole the Chess boards or pieces. Oh! They love moving them. Usually just above the running fountain with elongated channels cut into it. You know where I'm going with this. Two boards. Ironically only one was moved, this time. I set up the board, and realize that a red pawn is missing. I look over at the fountain channels of running water. Out comes my FC12C, yet again! Shined it into the water with the rocks below. Did a very thorough job of it on the highest setting. Oh that light got HOT! But kept working. Sadly no, I never found that poor little pawn....
Now for what I used that very same light for, during yesterday's shift!
Finally ended up using my recently-purchased Ryobi One+ 18v. Cordless Pruner (Secateurs). Not to be confused with the latest One+ HP version. That one is moronically expensive. Don't waste your money. And, I got my non-HP version off of eBay for literally half the price of the current HP version.
Three trees, cutting off low-handing, thin diameter branches from the trees. The branches low enough to poke a tall individual in the face or eyes. Again, Maintenance slacking off. Yeah, I left a sizeable mess of tiny branches and plenty of leaves on the ground for maintenance to clean up..... and they did! Keep in mind, I work 3rd shift. Nearly pitch black outside. Yup! Had my Ryobi Pruner in one hand, my FC12C in the other, on the 2nd highest setting. No regrets regarding either purchase.
The irony? I just wanted a new 18650 light that didn't take proprietary batteries, and didn't have an encased battery. Wurkkos had the FC12C on sale for a sizeable discount. So, I figured one 18650 light is as good as another. Bought it without much expectation. Turns out, fantastic light! It's rare that I get a surprise for all the right reasons, with my many, recent purchases of EDC gear.

Busy night yesterday for flashlight use.
I had an Olight S2 Baton that I kept as a kitchen light, but with all the Convoys I carry around it barely ever saw any use. So yesterday I gave it to my elder brother. He has an old S1 Baton I gifted him years back, but the 16340 in it shorted out and went dead and we couldn't find a good store to buy a new cell from. Thankfully 18650s are much easier to find.
That same brother of mine later went to a print shop and lost his cell phone. So me, him and his wife used that S2 Baton plus the S21E tan (B35AM 5700K) and S15 (B35AM 4500K) I was carrying. We turned his house practically upside down, looked in every surface and corner and nook and even out in his backyard. Later, he and his wife went back to the print shop to see if he could've dropped the phone around there, and one call to said phone later they realized he'd forgotten it inside the shop itself.
While they weren't critically useful in the end, all three torches pulled their weight. The S15 barely got warm at 50% power, even though I used it almost nonstop for 10+ minutes, all the while providing more than adequate light.

There are fairly accurate maps of temperature, air currents, and expected rainfall. So far, what I see on the map and what's happening in the sky above me matches up very well, even 3-4 days in advance. The timeline can be moved at the bottom
Well, I've been using the Zebra SC51 for the past few days. It was really annoying that it turns on in my pocket, and you can't see or feel it, so the battery is dead when you need it. But the thread about Zebras mentioned a great trick: unscrew the back cover. It works great, although I think it would be more convenient to add a double-click to turn it on, like Lupine flashlights
