Not a fan of folders unless it is a multitool, I do realize their advantage, but I'm still not fan of those, however there are small fixed blades, that are safe to carry, Good steel, and very lightweight. Like these 2.

Not a knife guy really. When working there was a fixed blade boot knife is residence. Not exactly department ordinance but it was a last ditch carry. These days it's a Benchmade Barrage in my pants pocket. A very nice knife that's useful and handy. Benchmade is certainly proud of their kit. Most people unacquainted with it think it's a switchblade. Some of the knives in this thread are works of art or utilitarian art.

The only "knife guy" I knew personally was a nut job fascinated with edged weapons but not a discerning acquirer of same. Things never went well for him, including the end.

Not that I'm applying that to anyone here. 😊

Haven’t checked in on this thread in a long time. I’m sure I have made some additions to the collection in the meantime. I should look back to see what I posted in the past.
Most recent purchase - Microtech Stitch.

This is such a great little pocket knife. I’ve tried to replace it many times but to no avail. A few knives come trickling in from time to time, but this is the one that sticks around.

I don't remember...was this the yellow salt you put the blackening stuff on? I have a racing green one but swapped the zdp to the h1 blade, as well as all the hardware.

Medallion fell off the last Parker .. I have glued it back .. Medallion fell off in my pocket .
I see you're a Parker Frost fan. I grew up in the same town as Smoky Mountain Knife Works in Sevierville, Tennessee, I worked at a grocery store two doors down from their business office downtown. Their retail shop started as a series of display cases in an old wooden antique barn along Rt 66, in the 70's. I go to their shop maybe twice a year, and go to the "antique and vintage" section.
Fond of Gerbers and Pumas, myself...
