    that light looks pretty decent. what diameter is the driver board? what diameter is the led circuit board? does the "drop in" fit snug into the light to shed the heat to the body? looks like a decent light to modify a little, especially if you have parts lying around to swap to make it...

    i have 2 501b's (xm-l t6 cool white), a 501a (xp-g r5) and a 504b (xm-l warm white). love them all. i bought the cheap lights so i can mod them and make them better and have fun doing it. i did buy expensive batteries and charger though... aw and pila. i really dont want bombs in my hand or...

    Ever had members of your household use you lights without asking...

    no one really uses lights at my house but me. the worst my wife does is "clean up" my lights and batteries and put them in a basket as im a clutter bug. friends always want to use them to look at things on cars or to diagnose a problem. mine are all cheap lights (<20$) so i dont care. Brian

    ive seen a few with the rebel packaging (less lumens and less claimed distance) with the cree LED. that was at walmart. same led and same number on the led board. looks like they are using up the packaging for the rebel led run on the cree current production. Brian

    i got one of these 2d mag's the other week when it was on sale at home depot for 16$. has the cree xp-e led and throws well but i hate how the mag optics make the LED light all uneven. im probably going to convert it to something else. brian

    if you are using aluminum can bits in your lights, there is a plastic liner on the inside of the can. i took my can, cut off either end and a slice down the middle lengthwise to make a sheet of aluminum. then i get out the acetone and a paper towel/rag and start wiping the plastic liner away...

    i like the new logo. a friend of mine has a Quark 123 turbo X neutral light and another has a quark 123 tactical and they are nice lights. i just wish they had more 18650 offerings or still made a quark 123 18650 tube. Brian

    Your Average Lumen Usage

    ~50 when coming into the bedroom at night (wife already in bed) and setting the alarm clock and plugging my phone in. rest of the time ~300 at work looking above ceilings and in dark basements unless its close up work. if close up stuff ~50-100. Brian
