Since parts can be as much as new Mags I tend to keep a few spare C and D models on hand just for parts in the future. Typically the 90s- 2003 models. Past that I'm not as interested and I believe my latest incan classic mag, a red 6, D is somehow different as the rubber switch cover won't stay on.
Friday I was in the shop and the owner of the building asks if I have a bright light to shine behind some shelves to illuminate an outlet. I tell him of course I have a Surefire. Then I used my 9P with Malkoff to light things up.
Today the same task with a Lumens Factory Seraph.
It is what it is. If you like a light buy spares because the companies think they need to change things so often like it is an automobile. Few lights are like MagLite with nearly the same design decade after decade.

The lights were more interesting back then. I mostly buy lights from the 1990s-2010. I wish I had kept my old lights and I'm lucky to have a small handful of older lights that were floating...
