Mind you, the trippiest experience I have had was when I was a kid at a LAN-party. And after ~36 hours awake and having spent the last 16 of them playing Counter-Strike...when my mother had come to pick me up Sunday night and we were driving home, a car approached from the right (as they sometimes do at an intersection), and I instinctively hid behind the B-pillar.

Because for 2 seconds I thought the headlights was the muzzle flash from someone shooting at me, and I tried to find cover. My brain hadn't yet fully caught up with the fact that I had stopped playing some 20 minutes earlier. If the B35AM can match that, then I am game (...) for it.

Seriously though, I appreciate the excuse to try the B35AM emitter. Don't own a light with it yet. And I see the S21E has it as an option too, so that is now in the cart instead (I prefer a side switch over the S21G tail switch).

Think you'll like the B35AM

Although it's been sold out for along time, got this light last year (big chunk of titanium) 3500k B35AM in it.
like it much better than the Nichia in my Jetbeam.

those are the only two Nichia I have

Oh yeah, I know what you mean when you mention these hallucinated reflexes. One time teenager me was pulling an all-nighter in the cram course I used to attend, and I collapsed from sleep and woke myself up yelling about building a barrage.

And yes, I defend that the 6500K B35AM matches that. It looks so wrong on paper (or on a white wall), but take it to a scene with plenty of color, especially outside, and it feels so right. The contrast befuddles the brain.

B35AM is my most owned emitter. I have one in 3000K (S21E), one in 4500K (S15), three in 5000K (S16, M21B and S21A), one in 5700K (S21E) and one in 6500K (S2+). All 7 of them are a spectacle and I love them.

The only other emitter that comes close is the 519A and only because my 18350 and 14500 backup minitorches almost universally have it. But for primary lights, my faves are B35AM and FC40.

I STRONGLY prefer a yellow tint to a rosey one.

Green is interesting in a few ways. It looks absolutely AWFUL beyond 5000K (especially in Nitecore 6500K lights), and below 5000K, it only looks bad in comparison on a white wall.
That's one of the things I've circled to accepting; neutral/warm green tints look objectively bad in comparison on a white wall, but when I use them outside, or across a field of objects with colors, it just...looks more natural.

Rosey tints always look a bit off, to me.

I prefer lights at 5000K or less, so I prefer yellow to rosey, and will accept some green just fine. I'd rather have green than the VERY rosey or orange tints.

Moving above 5000K, and I REALLY dislike greens, but I also REALLY dislike anything above 5000K, haha.

I concur. I know I'm maybe the last fanboy of the SST-20, but it's entirely because it generally has a really good CRI compared to rosier LEDs.
Side-by-side, that green tint looks so gross compared to something rosey, but if I'm just using the light (especially outside), it just renders colors so much better and naturally.

I got my first lights from Hank in the past year. I ordered some KC1's with most of the NTG35 emitters, and while they're really nice, they are too rosey for my tastes.

I don't mind the them, though. I might order a D3AA with one, just to give myself more of a chance to acclimate to them.

Unless I am missing something, you can safely leave Team Greens mantle in the dirt where it belongs.

I don't think we're discusing preferring a Positive DUV or Negative DUV, and a Green tint it not a Yellow tint I would argue. I definitely prefer a Yellow tint (Positive DUV), which as you say turns Green at 5000K and above - which I think is definitely ugly. And I am also a warm guy, not liking CCTs much colder than 4000K.

Won't see an Orange tint until you're closer to the 2500K range though. Which I can understand not everyone like - the "candle light" CCTs is as much of a personal preference as the Rosy tint itself, I would say.

So you and I definitely prefer the same tint - and we're both are hatin' on Nitecore 6500K lights.
As for emitters, I think you would like the SFT-70 3000K. For a cheap intro and outdoor use, try the Convoy M21H with a 24° bead TIR (24° lens must be ordered separately and you must swap it yourself).

I've seen a lot of hate on the SST-20 4000K over the years, because like half the bins are fairly green.

BUT, I think green with a mostly yellow beam is quite acceptable.

The LH351D got even more hate at 4000K and 5000K for being green, and...while I agree, I actually really like that emitter, too.

I swear, unless you do a side-by-side with a 519A, you don't even notice they're green at those CCTs. And then, the second you stop comparing it, and just start using it, it really looks great.

The LH351D has seemingly all but disappeared, and I kind of wish I hadn't given away so many lights over the years that had that, because now I kind of miss having them, haha.

My argument in favor of green tints is to just focus on the stuff you're illuminating, and don't do a head-to-head, and they're actually fantastic.
Whenever I take a rosey light outside, it just looks ever-so-slightly off.
I kind of wonder if the extra green spectrum just helps makes all the plants "pop," haha.
Alternatively, red is a contrasting color, so too much red likely subdues the green...and, at least where I live, it's a lot of green outdoors (indoors for me, too, as that's my favorite color, haha). That seems like it would be a logical explanation, so I think I'm going to look into that, haha.

There is no escaping yellow tint and how they make everything yellow, everything
It's like when it's super humid outside >no escaping it.

Several reasons you want rose tint goggles for snow skiing,,
you get full spectrum of colors and more importantly contrast & depth of field.
your eyes adjust in 1 second after putting them on.

Most of my Reylight collection are dedomed 4000K Nichia 519a, I have grown fond of the rosy tint for indoors. Currently EDC the copper penlight:

You don't want a red tint in googles or sunglasses,, wayyyyyyy to intense. You want full color spectrum

Suncloud Rose for glasses, all the time, any condition
Bolle' Vermillon for goggles

I'll add:: some lighter amber, if done right, can be good.
many amber are just dark **** yellow
