    Flashlight with fully adjustable brightness?

Jetbeam RRT-01 is the light you're thinking of. Infinitely variable rings are currently out-of-style. There aren't many around. There are also some older lights which feature infinitely variable brightness and control rings (Sunwayman V10 and V11 series, Nitecore SRT3 Defender). Fortunately...

Jetbeam RRT-01 getting warm while off.

The rotary mechanism contains a magnet whose position is sensed by the driver. All the electronics are in the driver. My guess is bad wiring causing a short. This could happen at the driver or the star. One possibility is the emitter isn't properly soldered to the star and there is a short...

Jetbeam RRT-01 getting warm while off.

If your RRT-01 is getting hot when the ring is in the off position, something is wrong with it. I have the same light and mine doesn't do that. Frankly, the RRT-01 shouldn't get hot even if the ring accidentally activates and leaves the light on, but in a very low setting. It should only get...

Emisar D3AA, custom Triple w new AA/14500 driver w NoPWM

Good news! ... the D3AA CAN run on store-bought Alkalines. It has a boost driver that is true dual-fuel. It runs on 1.5v AA as well as 3.7v lithium-ion. I just tried mine with a 1.5v Energizer Alkaline. Apart from an expected lower max output compared to lithium-ion, it worked great.

    Zebralight SC64w Hi and H53fw

I just wish Zebralight had more modern emitters available. Recently, I got some 519a and have been swapping them into several of my non-Zebralights. Especially when dedomed the tint, CRI and output are amazing. Enormously better than any LH351D.

why do most flashlight reviews have 1000 pics

Actually measuring runtime is very time consuming. When you account for low modes, it could take days. Most reviewers don't have the time or inclination to do that.

What was the last LED light you purchased and why?

Wurkkos TS10 4000K. I ordered multiple copies. One of them I specifically ordered for modding so I could salvage the star and optic and insert them into a Sofirn SP10 Pro. The mod came out quite well.

    The Official Zebralight Thread

"If it ain broke don't fix it?" .... well, the SC64 is by no means perfect. There's plenty of room for improvement, such as: SC64 host is very slippery. Replace the smooth body with knurling. Keep the light the same size. Deep carry clip. There are deep carry clip options available from...

    The Official Zebralight Thread

I wish Zebralight would come out with some new flashlight models. It's been literally years since they came out with anything new.

Bright light to throw into bottom of pocket?

I recommend the Wurkkos TS10: * Low price: less than $20 right now. * Bright: around 1000 lumens out-the-front * Superb tint and CRI * Powerful and easy to use Anduril2 interface. * Very small and light

    The Official Zebralight Thread

My SC64w Hi has a minor glitch. Occasionally, when I click the switch to turn the light on to high from off, the light will turn on, but then after 1 second turn off again. This happens even when my finger isn't on the button when it turns off. It's rare. At a guess, this happens once...

    Star base Cree replacement?

Looks like an XML-2 on a standard 20mm star. You can replace it on the same star with an XML2 or SST-40. Or you can replace it with any 3v emitter as long as it is on a 20mm star (XPL, XPL HI, SST-20, LH351D, Nichia 219C, etc.).

    The Official Zebralight Thread

I asked Zebralight a month ago when they were going to release new models. They told me they were waiting for a more dependable supply of parts. Sounds like the worldwide supply issues due to COVID are affecting them.

    Lumintop Serial Numbers?

I don't think Lumintop quite understands what serial numbers are supposed to be. In their case, it seems they use the same number for every light of a particular model. I think it's just meaningless decoration, not an actual serial number.

    The Official Zebralight Thread

Try Sugru. Sugru is a moldable rubber that comes in a little foil packet. After you open the packet, you can kneed it like putty and put it into position on your light. Fashion it into a ring covering the front edge and bezel. Maybe a few lines going to another ring behind the switch. And a...

    Eagtac D25A switch

The switch itself is a fairly standard type of clicky. You should be able to find a generic one with no problem. Assuming you can clean off the board, it's not hard to solder a replacement switch on. If the board is also dead, you might need to make a replacement board. Or you could try...

    ZL H53 on 14500?

The SC53w uses a CREE XPL2 emitter too. This means that it could be emitter-swapped to your favorite SW45K 219B jon_slider. The downside is emitter-swaps in Zebralights are quite challenging.
