    This is the Nitecore NDF25. It's a tight fit, but it's solid once it's on. I can't speak to the durability/longevity; I keep it in my backpack and have only popped it on a couple times to play with it. It's more translucent compared to some diffusers I have, but that should block less light.

    I bought my EDC Exec second hand with the LED swapped by Vinh, and I am pleased with it. The emitter is right where it should be on the PCB, but it's slightly off center in the reflector, which seems consistent with most HDS pictures I've seen 'down the tube'.     The green part of the PCB isn't (under normal operation anyway) making contact with anything, so it won't hurt anything, maybe just collect extra dust over time as you open the head changing batteries.     I know the manual says to use non-conductive grease, but I'm not sure of the reasoning behind that. I would think as long as it isn't gooped on so that it's bridging contacts, conductive grease would be desirable.

    This is how the emitter is sitting in there currently. You're saying if I could open up the base of the reflector and let more of the emitter, basically to the point of having the reflector sit on the MCPCB instead of on the edge of the emitter, that would help? It's kind of hard to see...
