    Explosion Proof Flashlights

I work in the oil & gas industry (production) and we either use something from the Streamlight Haz-Lo Series or Pelican SabreLites

Looking for an AA/AAA flashlight for work in industrial plant.

Gotcha...that keeps your options pretty wide open then. I work on a deepwater oil and gas production platform and any light that is carried out here has to be Class 1, Div 2 rated. Going by your list, my suggestion would be the Olight S15 or something similar from Fenix, like their LD12 or E12.

Looking for an AA/AAA flashlight for work in industrial plant.

I noticed you mentioned "industrial plant"....Does the light have to be intrinsically safe? You may want to check on that. If so, that could restrict your choices.

    Fenix E01

It's a $10 keychain light so I'm not expecting tint perfection on a light that's mainly used as a "back-up" or for emergencies when nothing else is readily available. With that said, I just ordered a purple one from fenixgear that should be at the Post Office on Monday.

40 budget for a flashlight. .. what do you guys recommend?

Careful shopping online can yield you an Olight S-15 or S-10 Baton for less than $40 shipped. I picked up a S-15 with extension tube for less than $35 shipped, IIRC. I've been more than satisfied with it.

Need new light for long-term storage in vehicle

Take a look at the Streamlight PolyTacs. They're a good, less expensive alternative to the SureFires. They were recommended to me and it's what I keep in my glove box. I've been more than satisfied with mine.

    Single-mode, AAA lights

Never gave much thought to Led Lenser before. How are they on run times? Their website doesn't give much info. I'm an old Arc fan and I still carry one. :) I'm looking for simple, durable but inexpensive AAA key chain-style lights that can be given away as gifts I wanted to see if there were...

    Single-mode, AAA lights

That's a good-looking light, Poppy. 60 lumens is great, but I was hoping to find something with a bit more run time. I like that Rayus, but I'm not having much luck finding them for sell online. Those old E05s are really great lights, but I never cared for the lens design.

    Single-mode, AAA lights

Those LightStar80's are pretty nice for the price. I picked several up on a BOGO special and keep them "strategically" placed around the house. They also make for a good, budget work light.

    Single-mode, AAA lights

Are there still any good single-mode AAA lights on the market besides the Fenix E01? I know that the venerable single mode light has given way to today's gamut of multi-mode lights but I still have a soft spot for these.

What LED flashlight is sitting on your nightstand?

Olight S-15 Baton with a battery extension tube for longer run times.

Incoming - What do you have coming in the mail??

I just received two of the black ones that I ordered using the BOGO. Not bad little lights at all considering they were only about $12 bucks apiece

    Fenix E05 Stainless Steel

Not sure if this has already been answered and I just overlooked it, but is the optic on this one different from the original E05 and how so?

What did you use your flashlight for today?

Used the Streamlight PolyTac that I keep in the glove box of my truck to help locate the source of an oil leak on my truck.

What did you use your flashlight for today?

Used my S-15 Baton during an evening stroll on the beach with my wife to look for shells and ghost crabs

    Please be careful

Snug fitting goggles with a strap are much better for metal-working tasks than regular old safety glasses. Using goggle is pretty much industry standard when doing metal work in the oilfield. Many even require wearing a full face shield over the goggles. A bit cumbersome but worth it to protect...

How do you carry your EDC?

I have one that stays on my keychain (Arc AAA) so it's always with me. I also have an Olight S15 that'll I'll clip into a front pants pocket if I feel the need to carry something bigger.

Fenix 2014 catalog - new products

I noticed that the LD01 no longer has a product page. I'm guessing that the LD02 is taking its place completely?

What did you use your flashlight for today?

Used my Olight S15 to help install a Google Chromecast on the back of the TV in the living room.
