You Just Know Your A Flashaholic When......

I like to add stuff like o-ring grease or battery storage caddies to get the free shipping. Or maybe a Fenix e01 / Olight i3e.

You Just Know Your A Flashaholic When......

When you sell £1000 worth of lights but it hardly makes any difference to your collection.

That Anduril flowchart is my idea of a nightmare!! Makes Zebralights look easy. I do like single mode lights 😆

Just accidentally stumbled across an old sales thread. There was an M61LL XML T6! I knew there were some XML M61s. Didn’t realise they made a low low version. Apparently they made only about 20 for an expedition. I recon an M61LL with an XPL would be nice. Probably have a nice wide hotspot. But...

    Help with broken Surefire

My guess is: a brand new light. Patina on the old one was nice though.

At 1.5v M31W is probably 90 lumens vs M31WLL at 3.0v 65 lumens. That’s how I read it anyway. M31W requires 1.8v for full output.

    Is this an Oveready flashlight?

Looks like Oveready. TorchLab Moddoolar body and tailcap with Surefire compatible smoothy bezel (6P/Z44).

What did you use your flashlight for today?

9-LED 3AAA. The flashlight format that won’t DIE!!!🤣 Must be zillions of those things out there. Better than no light at all tho.

Think I got bit by a dang snake

Pain could just be from swelling. I sunburnt my feet really bad. They swelled up and blistered all across the top. I couldn’t put any pressure on the front of my feet for a couple of weeks, i was walking everywhere on my heels until the swelling went down. Hope you get well soon Raggie.

G2X Pro is still available. It’s just the Tactical single mode that’s disappeared from the SF website.

Don’t worry about weird tracking notices, they’re not always accurate! My Kosen parcel (US-UK) is currently in Switzerland according to Royal Mail, this is because Asendia use Swiss Post and Swiss tracking numbers (ending CH). If I check the Asendia tracking page it shows it’s still being...

I’m sure I’ve read somewhere that people have modified their hi/low ring with a different resistor more suited to 3.0v M31 drop-ins. I think it’s a bit tricky to do and you risk destroying the ring. Also, knowing Gene the resistor is probably potted. Like the omnivore setup v.much 👍

24-30 hours runtime on 2x NiMH D cells? Or is my maths a bit out? Probably run for days at low lumens on alkaline cells.

    It's official. I'm a Millennium Series addict.

Yes, HA natural anodising is notoriously variable even on factory fresh lights. It’s a lottery if you get matched/mismatched parts. This may be why so many lights are in HA black nowadays, it’s much more consistent. I don’t mind mismatched parts myself, you can’t see them in the dark anyway.

It states 3.7-9.0v driver. Then near the bottom of the page it says: working voltage 2.6-9.0v. Sounds like above 3.7v it’s in regulation and below 3.7v it’s direct drive. Maybe it has the same driver as the newer 9v M361. I don’t think it would work on 1.5v but it probably will work direct drive...

For a quick and easy AA sleeve in a 16mm Surefire 3 cell body I use a magazine cover cut roughly in half lengthways and rolled up into a tube (needs to be 2xAA or 100mm wide). I’ve used Oveready Delrin sleeves (no longer available) in the past and they’re probably the gold standard, but some...

My Dad absolutely hates cool white tints. He’s spent most of his life as a truck driver with halogen headlights and doesn’t like most LEDs. It’ll be interesting to see if he likes 2700k. I just like the way reds pop with hi-cri LEDs.

    red headlamp suggestions?

I’ve been experimenting with lights for walking this week in rural Norfolk, UK. I tried the Fenix HM62-T on the 5 lumen red mode but found it too dim to comfortably walk with. As mentioned compared to white light your depth perception suffers quite a bit. It’s probably okay for inside a tent or...

Ordered 2x M31LL 😄 Been using 219b Illumn M31LL over last few days. 60 lumens is just right for a walk outside. Not much throw but lights up in front of you nicely.
