Awe, seems they're all gone now. Oh well, no backups.

For maintenance, does anyone have a parts list? I couldn't find one in this thread, the Behance, Kickstarter, nor the design thread.

I tried the ruler method and caliper method to measure the o-rings, so these are amateur approximations at best.

All but the shock dampeners (0.5mm) and driver isolation ring (2mm) appear to be 1mm wide. While the dimensions don't make sense, ID and OD as measured are listed.

There's also an internal Silicone water seal device I haven't laid eyes on, don't want to solder anything tonight: design thread #770

A real parts list would be greatly appreciated.

Yes I would recommend tightening the brass retaining ring that holds the driver in place, it's possible that it may have wiggled loose and isn't making proper contact with the driver board. If you are still having trouble you can send it to me and I will have it repaired and sent right back to you.

Almost everything on this light is custom made so it's unlikely you will find off the shelf items or parts from another flashlight that will work, even the little socket cap screws holding the clip on are custom made. I do have spares of certain parts so if the light breaks sometime just let me know and I can have it fixed for you. The screws are 2.5mm x 5mm long torx but the head diameter has been reduced to fit the clip, a normal 2.5mm threaded bolt will hold on the clip but the head won't be small enough to recess i'm afraid. I actually had 30,000pc of this part made so I'm not sure if someone on CPF would like to buy the whole lot I'm willing to sell it.

As of now all the lights have been sold, if anyone has trouble with their light let me know and I can have things fixed up for you. It's been an awesome project and I've learned a lot from it. I hope to have another project in the future... But I don't really know when at this point.

For anyone that purchased a light, you will not be disappointed. I bought 3x11mm trits for mine as they are brighter. If they break I'll just replace them or switch up the colors.

I'm really curious just how fragile the light is with 3x11mm trits installed compared to the smaller ones. Anyone experience them break or know what it would take to break them? I figure dropping the light will but maybe getting tossed around in a bag would be ok?
 
I know Josh did some specific drop testing. I tested mine on concrete covered in linoleum and hardwood. Dropping it would break a trit most times. The smaller trits did not break. I even had some trits broken in transit when it was shipped to me (dhl). In a bag, it's likely okay. A direct impact will break the trit, but a bit of bumping in a bag is probably okay (but I can't guarantee anything of course).
 
I have been using the AW14500 red for a few weeks.
Few days ago I tried using a newly bought protected Olight 14500, which appears to be too long.

I might have screwed on too tight and now the flashlight does not light up at all. Did I damage the driver? Any idea how I can do some trouble shooting?
Is it possible to dig out the driver and see if I broke any wires?

I tried the tail switch is OK.

Glad I saw this I was seriously in the middle of ordering a set of protected Olights off of amazon and switched it to some windy fires off of the mountain electronics site. The protected olight's are 52mm tall while the windy fires are 49. Seems like there aren't many 14500 batteries out there. What's your guys favorite source for em?

I did a mini review when I first received the light earlier this year.

Lots of pictures and a brief overview of my impressions. Add your comments to that thread if you want.

I'm using the 800 mAh Efest 14500 in my light without issue. It's got the smaller trits installed.

A caution on using the liquid version of Krytox based lubes like Finishline White Lightning, the carrier used is a hydrocarbon solvent based and will swell the o-rings.

I use the o-ring silicone lube sold by McMaster as well as Permatex dielectric grease. Neither have caused O-ring swelling.

I bought a pair of OLight 14500's, they measure 52.7mm and 52.8mm. with the spring bottomed out on the firefly there is a ~1.5mm gap between the bezel and the body. this would seem to indicate a maximum cell length of ~51.2mm.

Seems for ICR cells EagleTac and AW are the best options.

Edit: confirmed AW IC Protected 14500 (@51mm) work and allow the firefly head to seal flush with the body.

Hi all, i just acguired a secondhand firefly. What a beautiful light... however the button is sticky, for lack of a better word. It is not smooth. Did i get a dud/defect or are the others this way? It is very disappointing as it makes a premium looking light feel in operation like a chinese bargain light., thanks,
