So, after looking around for a while, I have yet to come up with such a light.

- 1xAAA
- Forward clicky
- Multiple modes, but no mode toggling via switch

In the title, I've mentioned "tactical" switching. I couldn't find another term for it, so I used that. It means that the light does not cycle output modes via the switch, but by position or loosening and tightening of the head.

There are some 1xAAA lights that have forward clicky--such as Lumapower LM21, Avenger GX, the Franken-LD01/L0D-Microstream--but all of them make use of the same switch to cycle modes, as well. The closest I've came across is EagleTac PN20A2, but that's 2xAAA.

Is there such a light out there?

Well I can't say for how long yet, but the Inova xs will take 10440's and is quite a bit brighter and starts to get warm at the head after 10-20 secs if that.

Inova XS does not feature "tactical" switching. It will cycle modes every time the button is pressed.
