Nice work HKJ
Great review, I've only had a chance to skim it but I'd humbly suggest the relatively popular Streamlight Microstream. Decent throw for the money and relatively good tint.
Good stuff,
HKJ, you may want to try the new Peak Eiger as well. It is not fancy with multiple levels but it does have some unique properties. So far it seems to be a very efficient light in the #4 power.
I definitely want the Eiger and have already bough it.

Ah ..I figured you might already have had one on the way. So how do you like it? I see you have a #2 and #8. I found that I like the #4 power level and it provides a pretty lot of light for general use. If I put a 14400 cell in it about doubles the output - but still at a very safe and reasonable drive level to get a couple hours of use.
Nice review. Where did you get that clip?![]()
HKJ, what's your opinion on the new Avenger?
It is an ok light, here are some thoughts:
It has a larger brightness range than Fenix LD01 :), but the maximal brightness is a bit lower.
The clip feels weak.:(
The lanyard and clip must me mounted on the clip, if I want to use the switch :(, the plain tail has a hole for them.
It has a forward switch :)
For an advanced light the LiteFlux LF2XT is better and for a simple twisty, it is a tie with Fenix LD01. But for a simple multi level light with switch, it has no competion.:)
Ah... thanks for the insight. That's what I needed to know. Was uncertain after they've decided to make it incompatible with 10440 in return for longer runtime. Perhaps it's worth a try...
