Just found this section on the forum. I am a mechanic and work on fire trucks. I'm usually on my back or in a hole so I need my hands to be free. I live in Georgia so its hot as Hades outside. The light does not have to go too far but a wide range would be great! I currently use a energizer headlight from Lowe's and it is ok but its kinda uncomfortable. About the only thing I do like is that it is low profile because I have to slide under trucks.

Perhaps a Olight S10? Can clip on to the brim of a cap...but I`m thinking more important, the magnetic tail? Might be able to stick it on metal around the truck pointing more less where you need it...

Check out ZebreLight headlamps. They offer several models that are flood only (with a bare emitter, no reflector) so they provide a perfectly even wide beam profile. I don't know your budget so they might be a little more than you expected (around $65) but I own 5 zebras (3 handheld, 2 headlamps) and I love them.
