I'v been to Traverse City Michigan.
It was a World Cup Mountain Biking event at one of the ski resorts there,, I qualified in top 16 for one of the events.
Incredible heat wave that weekend. Was around 1990 or '91
No idea if there was a Walmart there back then.

Grew up about an hour south of TC. When I was in high school we'd drive up there to see concerts during the summer. After I was married and moved away, we'd visit family and take my grandparent's boat from Frankfort up the coast to TC and Petoskey. The only place that coral grew in freshwater.
