I ony have 2 armytek tho, and they have worked flawlessly. One is a few years old alredy. I don't have the Klarus but since they claim 2000 fl1, that means at least 30 seconds in, its still outputting 2k lumens otf, which is really all I would need/expect out of a light that size. Just a burst mode really to wow your non flashoholic peers

I'd say AT exaggerated the throw of the Dobermann Pro and Predator LE more than just a bit. Just take a look at their new and old numbers. It's 50% or more.

Measured 48640cd on my DPPro HI, advertised 50600cd at that time. Do you think Armytek has decreased the output of their new lights? On the Dobermann HI is supposed to be 36250cd now...

On my PP HI, 59kcd measured....advertised at that time 72800cd...now 47750cd??

Measured with ncr18650GA or LG MJ1 3500mah cells. Armytek measures are made with 3400mah cells...

The new figures are more in line with my measurements. Go figure.
Your meter might have given you high readings for those lights. Unless my other lights are way under-rated, and I'm positive they're not, AT's original figures were way too high.
 
My measures are a bit under but close to my others lights. Target with my P12GT.

I have won a Dobermann XP-L on Facebook a month ago. This one needs 10 twists to disable the strobe. I will measure that one to see.

I have Partner Pro XHP35 on the way. I will measure it when I receive it.

Klarus numbers are likely overrated by 20% or more. The new firmware requiring 10 twists is annoying. Will be watching this thread.
 
Seems that my DP is the new version, I downloaded the updated manual and now I checked all hidden modes.

Did you know that it has 2 turbo modes? Well...I didn't know...Mode Turbo2 (1000lm) and Mode Turbo1 (670 lm) for more constant output. Changing modes for who don't know - push the button (half/momentary on) 15 times, than push complete to power the light.

My measurements was made on Turbo1 (670 lm) that's why I was disappointed regarding overall output. When I played with the light I notice that sometimes it blink 2 times or 1 time, that is the indicator if you are on Turbo2 or Turbo1.

I compared again with my 1000 lm flashlights (Nitecore EC4GT, EA45S, Fenix PD35 TAC) there is no difference in overall output on turbo!! I believe that DP have 1000 lm (or very close)
And and more detail, the battery from DP was at 3,85V (!!) so, no fresh battery.

I like also the tactical mode (level 4 + Turbo2 + strobe )

Sorry that I gave wrong impressions on previous posts regarding overall output.

Now also I must test the throw again! The hotspot to DP is noticeable more concentrated comparing with Nitecore EA45S (40000 cd) will be interesting :)

I love more this flashlight !!
 
...also in tactical mode can be turbo can be set as Turbo2 (full power 1000 lm) or Turbo1 (670lm)

they must have changed the firmware again. Just checked both my DP Pros neither has the second turbo. Wait...got the PDF...man this is going to drive me nuts

Did you tried to click (not fully, jut momentary) 15-16 times than full click ? After that, flashlight will blink one (means Turbo1 in function) and if blink twice mean that is on Turbo2 (max) mode.

I check now one more thing, when you put a new battery, flashlight will start on Turbo1 670 lumens (I think is more like 700+ lumens). Now I can explain once again why at first check I saw that was less bright than other 900-1000 lm lights.

On Turbo2 with fresh IMR is hell bright!! same brightness like Fenix PD35 XPL, so for sure round 1000 lumens

I'm pretty sure you have the latest version and we have the outdated ones. I think it's safe to say that if I ever buy another AT light again, I'll wait until the official manual for it is published. By then the light should be as improved and updated as it will ever be.
 
With the current 20% off promotion on the Dobermann Pro XP-L HI with white emitter ("warm" emitter still regular price), I went ahead & purchased one yesterday. Downloaded the manual, & my brain is half fried from reading over the operation / mode switching... :confused::huh::eek:

I'm all for user changeable modes, but if it's as complicated as it looks... should probably make the flashlight a tiny bit bigger & put a mode button on it.

When a new manual is out, they change the UI again. When they gonna put a serial on their lights? And a manual for each UI according to the serials? I have 2 DP XP-L HI, one bought near January, another in march. The first one needs 3 twists to remove the strobe, the other 5 twists and now it's 15-20 twists loll....3 differents UI in the same year. These 3 lights look the same. And that is only for the Dobermann...

Edit: I have forgotten the DB XP-L that I have won, this one needs 10 twists....

A consumer like yourself and others reading this will eventually figure out the lights operation from reading CPF. Now imagine the person who stumbles across the Armytek website and buys a light. No manual or the light operates different than stated in the manual. They are either stuck or have to find CPF to self study how to operate the light. Not everyone is going to do that.
 
Yes, I know what you meant. I have 12 of their lights now. For a novice, when you receive a Dobermann Pro with the incorrect manual and you go on their site to find the same or another different manual, it's tough exploiting the light to the max.

Now with their 2 turbo, you have to program them to select the one you want. Same thing with my Partner C4 Pro XHP35 I have receive this week. Why not a UI with the 2 turbo like the Wizard instead having only one of them?
 
Can't wait for this light with xhp35hi. Doberman pro with xpl-hi is one of my favorites. I'm wondering how this light will compare to my newly acquired xt11gt, I'm thinking dobermann with its deeper and wider reflector will simply blow it away
 
Just received mine, and so far, I'm HAPPY:)

Spot on the Left is the Dobermann Pro (fresh out the box - first button press) with a 3500mAh "High Drain" Orbtronic @ 3.97V - spot on the Right is my Nitecore SRT-7 in Turbo Mode with a 3400mAh Orbtronic @ 4.19V... I turned the SRT-7 on after I turned on the Dobermann Pro. Needless to say, I'm impressed with the brightness, & I like the slightly less green tint. Both lights were about 18 inches above the board.
 
I just received my first AT (Doberman XP-L) yesterday. Had high hopes for this light, but I'm a little put off. Although it appears to have better (different?) anodizing than my other lights, there is NO WAY that this light puts out 1200 lumens! I don't have a light meter, but I do have a bunch of other lights to compare it to, none of which claim anywhere close to 1200 lumens, and there's no way. In addition, there are artifacts in the beam and the tint is atrocious (green overtones).

I can live with all that, if it is as "bulletproof" as AT claims, but their claims about lumens certainly have been debunked (at least to me). Oh well. There wasn't a manual, either?!:wtf:
