Chinese KS 1089 in 8cr13mov ( Supposedly/Claimed )
HRC = 55/50 ( 55HRC file bites / 50HRC file skates )
Edge retention on the rope = 300 slice roller fail @ 18 degrees per side .
For the money paid , 300 slice roller fail is fair enough .

Knife is easy to use , comfortable in the hand and takes a very nice edge . The sheath is good at this price point and is fitted with a dangler belt loop . Yeah , the steel is a little soft I dare say and as such may be prone to roller fails . Butt , they do tend to strop back ( softer steel ) .

This one , I ground the spine crisp enough to bleed me ( bushcrafty ) . Too crisp ? ( Really digs into the wood when scraping )

Did they actually advertise an hrc on that knife? It would be interesting to know if they are lying about the hrc.
