Childbot Y1915C Anyone?

Just for the heck of it, I was looking at reasonably priced ($50 or less), somewhat powerful (3,000 lumens or more), flashlights with a decent throw (200 yards or more). Now my missus and I are seniors, meaning technical complexity is not our thing. We would, however, be using this light every night. We live rural and have a dog that needs to go out (don’t all dogs?). Any-who, we’re in the woods and there’s critters all over the place. Some of which aren’t so friendly. Currently we’re using a Wuben L50, 1200 lumen, 200 meter throw, one 18650 cell, it’s a good light and it works out well. However, a brighter one wouldn’t hurt either and, after all, I’m just shopping.

I was leaning towards a Sofirn C8L, however with the two switches I’m thinking we might not want to bother with the learning curve. Then I stumbled upon the Childbot Y1915C @10,000 lumens with a 3640 foot throw. It takes a
26650 Li-Ion cell or has an adaptor to run with three AA cells.

This thing sounds way to good to be true. It’s on Amazon and I can’t find a website for “Childbot”. I believe links to Amazon are frowned upon here, but if you search “Childbot Y1915C Amazon” you’ll get there. They have a lot of information on their Amazon page.

What I was wondering was does anyone own one of these lights and, if so, what do you think of it? Actually, the same holds true for the Sofirn C8L, which is probably the better quality light (I’m assuming). Also, non-owners are welcome to toss their 2¢ in. I got a lot of good info from the people here.

Dont bother
Its lies tell you its crap.
10000lm from 1 26650 is a big lie.
Its a stretch to get 5000 from 1 cell for more than 30 sec.
And aa cells will be a joke

A bit more expensive once batteries are included (I recommend adding 3x Molicel P50B with the light), but you won't have any performance issues with it.

Optionally the L21A with the same emitter (have one of those too in 1800K).

Output power is the same, though with a 3rd of the runtime (1 battery vs 3 in the 3X21).

I was just outside to take some more bean - I mean, beam shots (I think Reddit and its frequent beanshots meme is affecting me...).

Had the tripods placed right next to each other, then taking the shots again with the camera further back. Let me know what style y'all prefer, should I decide to do more.

I am still not able to make the camera catch the nuances on the LHP73B and the 519A 1800K, but I swear the 519A is more Yellow and the LHP73B is more Orange. Much more so than the camera shows. The settings are exactly the same as last time (though I forgot to switch to...

For sure, the M21F also has that electronic switch. Whereas the L21A has the more traditional tail clicky switch. Am looking at the M21H myself.

Is Flood or Throw the most important to you? Convoy got tons of options, and it's hard to give exact suggestions without knowing the details of the usecase.
200 yards (close to 200 meters) is pretty far if you want some spill as well. I see the M21F is offered in both Smooth and Orange Peel reflector - the Orange Peel is more floody, so either specify which you want when you order (you'll get a "note" section before payment) or get it with an emitter listed to come with the reflector you prefer.

The electrical pole in the background in my beamshots is about 150 meters away for reference. All lights in the images are ramped up to High, which gives you a few minutes before they get pretty warm to the touch.

If colour rendering is not important for this light, I'd say either LHP73B or XPH70.3 Hi + Smooth reflector.
If colour rendering is important or something you'd also want for indoor use, get a S21E, 519A 2700K with a 45° TIR. I have bought, like, 7 of those now.

The details I have assembled so far are as follows:

• Reliance INR21700-RS50 5000mAh battery.

Now I’m guessing I’d want the orange peel reflector?

I finally found beam shot of the M21F with the LPH73B. There also more shots here: Convoy M21H LHP73B 4000K, wildfire haze beamshots! I have no idea which reflector they're using or the distance.

  • made of aluminium alloy, the reflective surface is vacuum-coated.
  • orange peel for XHP70.3 HI , GT FC40 , SFT70 , LHP73B
  • smooth for SFT40 , KW CULPM1.TG , GT LEDLED and at 4000k.

Well it’s been a couple weeks now and all I can say is it’s great. The light gets used nightly and always on high. I recharge about once a week or so. It’s exactly what I/we wanted and man, does it light up the place. Thanks, again, everyone.
