@KITROBASKIN, I didn't realize you live at higher elevation. Agree, hole digging is even a chore down in lower foothills. At 2000ft we have decomposed granite sandwiched in-between red clay. Digging in winter is doable but during heat of summer I need a jack hammer.
It took my dogs multiple times being skunked before they learned to back off.. The males slower to catch on.
Hersha, guessing is the chocolate Aussie, and the big girl, is she part Rhodesian?

I wanted to say that ain't nothin' but a hound dog and an Australian shepherd. But I misread what you wrote. I think you may have nailed it. My vote is that there is an Anatolian shepherd and an Australian shepherd, and they see something. What do they see?

I do not know anyone who has a good home for a real Kangal (Anatolian) livestock guardian. They belong in remote areas protecting sheep from wolves and such; extremely willful and forward so much as to make many people fear. People like to believe they are safe. And if they are respectful to Hersha it is all good as long as they do not act like reckless humans. Oh well.

A rescue dog showed up many years ago, decided she was half shar-pei and half Rhodesian Ridgeback. What a wonderful dog. I taught her to move cattle; excellent pursuit nature and a clean hunter.

The east Texas ranch dog has Australian Shepherd but maybe dad was a hog hunter. I met him: missing an eye but friendly.

Good video. I think any of the herders/ guardians need a job and lots of exercise or they get a bit unruly. I didn’t know the Anatolians were quite such a handful.
I’ll stick to my GSDs.

I've read dogs mouths are cleaner than humans. Allowing your pet dog to lick a skinned knee will promote healing. Sounds like an old wives tale, but there's something in dogs saliva that cleanse wounds.
I believe it's instinct, that makes them lick our boo-boos

Ps I and some scientists still say rats are smarter there my pet now due to cost of care. It just amazes me because there brain is so small. But I've read it's wired like a humans brain

Works for me. Couple years ago I read about a study that confirmed dog cleaning a wound was helpful.
