Have skyrocketed !!x!!x

19 months ago, I bought this fast 256gb micro sd for $21 (205mb/s read & 150mb/s write)
Was a good price and put it on my shelf, still unopened.

Now the cheapest I'v seen today is $79
Staples has it for $129.99

= $80 is a 400% increase
= $130 is nearly 650% increase

Its good for me i have a super high end very fast external ssd drive for sale its 4 terabyte id guess if i wait i can get 450 bucks for it

Cool my laptop has 64 gb offddr5 buti think its slower for ddr5. So im seling ram and puting back in 8 gb strip due to stupid gpu it hasit cant game flight sim 2024 dang gpu only has 4gb of gpu ram

went through my computer parts, found three new/unopened M.2 drives, bought them all years ago.

Samsung 980Pro 2TB
WD 850X 2TB
WD 850X 1TB

Looking at the current prices, those three are now valued totaling from $1010 ~ $1148 = that's just for some backup storage!!
... .. and I have some new high quality RAM (low latency)

But all all the prices are rising since late Summer / Fall 2025. The RAM memory is extremely expensive (64GB DDR5 RAM was mid 2025 ~200-300€ now it is 600-700€), SSD prices are rising, and also SD / MicroSD card prices are rising. Some types are not that easy to get (i.e. particular UHS-II SD cards). Not mention to say Graphics cards are expensive too....

All this stuff is needed to feed the AI bubble. If the bubble explodes than the prices will go back to normal. But at the moment a lot of money is put into this to feed the AI bubble....

I purchased a 512GB M.2 before the crazy for $38 Australian bananas ...

Boycott upgrading till there is some sanity !

I bought a used Enterprise SSD (Samsung PM883 1,92 TB) on eBay early 2025 for 130 USD. Same drive, same condition, same seller...is now 260 USD.

I work with IT, and the AI bubble can't burst fast enough as far as I am concerned!
