Since I retired a couple months ago I’m much more aware of costs. Yup, I’m there.
Where I live in NYS gasoline has gone from $3.05 to $3.69 in 2 weeks because of the war. I may have to start hitting the reservations to get tax free gas and lower the prices some.
What are prices like where you live?

I'm in San Diego, CA it ranges around $5-ish. It was around $4 for regular and $5 for premium 2-3 weeks ago.

The national average is around $4 according to AAA

Hopefully those NATO countries will sack-up and open the Straight of Hormuz.

Wow, the west coast is worse.
As far as the NATO countries I think this may be the moment where they give us the finger, or at least delay things, in retaliation for how we’ve treated them lately. We shall see.

How are nato countries going to open the straight. We spend more then all of nato so how is one percent going to do anything? Another orangey distraction. Go to the playground and find a five year old to explain it. Not with a 1000 battleships and 100,000 orcs. It is folly. Kill box, google it.

The ill-thought policy has raised oil prices and now we are rolling back sanctions on Iran and letting them sell at the now higher rate for profit to fight against us to kill Americans and our allies.

Our actions are benefitting our chosen enemies. It's hard to imagine a more poorly strategized plan.

Shouldn't we all do our part to keep the rest of CPF friendly for all members?
When I saw this thread I thought it was in the PRC forum. Since it's not I'll refrain from posting any political content.

I don't buy gas but I do buy home heating oil. It was over $5 a gallon before this war started. I hate to think how much it'll be now. I'm putting automatic deliveries on hold. I turned off my heat for the season, and also turned the boiler off. When I shower I just need to turn it on about 15 to 20 minutes beforehand. This saves me about 15 gallons of heating oil per month, compared to keeping the boiler warm all the time.

I agree and the intent of the thread was not to be political in any way. Like the weather thread it’s something we’re all going through and may be struggling with. I’m sure we all hope it’s over soon and we get back to lower prices at the pump.
