Found a holster for "The Club"!

It just disappears.:thinking:

Does anyone know the exact color K of the current 200lm Hcri. Is it 4500 K? The HDS website says "around 4000 K". It is more cooler/whiter than my Hogo LE 4000k XPL.
 
Pretty sure they're sw40 bin emitters, which will be like 3800-4200 give or take. But the 219b has so much more red in it then other emitters so it kinda messes with your perception a bit. It's really a beautiful led.
 
As above, I would put it to my eyes around 3800k , it's every so slightly warmer than a 4000k xpl HI if makes sense. Certainly not 4500k which looks a white compared .
 
ven, summed it well. I was gonna say, it seems like almost candle warm to my eyes. If that makes sense. lol

AV - Dang, that is a "Club". Back pocket carry only. lol
 
Thanks for all the replies. I guess the consensus is ~4000K. The reason I ask is because if I had choice between a 4000K 219C or 4500K 219B. I guess I would pick the 4000k 219C if it is closest to the HDS HCRI. I have a HDS 219b 170 lmn (88+ cri) but it is to cool for me.

219c has a lot less red than 219b. It's more tannish, occasionally even slightly green if you lose the tint lottery. But it's not rosy.

I do like 219cs though. I've put them in several lights, including an older Novatac 120p. It's a great emitter, much brighter and more efficient. But it doesn't look like a 219b.

PS: There's some 3-step 219cs out there now that will have a lot less variation and basically no chance of a tint lottery. Worth seeking out if you like 219cs.

It blinks every 5 seconds when off. Can someone help disable this "feature". Not sure what would be wrong with it. Yes I'm a noob and thanks for any help.

Hi! That's the locator beacon feature. To disable it, click the tailcap four times in succession from off. It will automatically be enabled every time you reset the flashlight. If you want to disable it more permanently, click three times and hold the switch. You will then need to cycle through the various options and hold and press when you get to the one for locator beacon. Hope I helped!
 
OK, first off, make sure you have the manual handy:

Now, you have somehow activated the locator flash - no need to panic. OK, panic if you want, I won't judge.

If yours is of the right generation, you can toggle this on and off with four rapid clicks while off. If that does not fix it:

The most straightforward way to get rid of it, assuming you never set any customization up on your light, would be the "factory reset", section 10. Turn on, remove battery compartment, re-assemble and when the light blinks on, press and hold the button until it goes off. Back to the way it was shipped.

OR:

You can be a hero and go in and turn it back off yourself. Section 11, I won't paraphrase until you try the four-click thing.

Scored this super clean 85Tr today and just had to share! My first experience with an old Ra Twisty. These are awesome lights!

I don't know much about them either so I'm learning too. Its a three-mode twisty, but its fully programmable for each of those settings. This one has that funky Osram (I think) emitter that has a red reverse polarity warning indicator on it, so Henry apparently built a special driver with a reverse polarity output mode to take advantage of it. So its got a red low, plus all the normal 20ish white output modes that all the lights of this generation had. Its "only" 85 lumens on high, but the emitter itself is absolutely *tiny* - makes an XP-E2 look like an XM-L2. So its a very throwy little light for what it does, a much more usable light than its output rating would indicate. A very cool light, really.
 
Sounds awesome and love the form factor as much as todays HDS and i love that!!!!. Henry was sure ahead of the game.................heck the Ra twisty leaves lights today in the dark!

85lm is enough for most uses imo, certainly for a little compact EDC type light. As you say, the small LED's dont half throw a spot a good way. I have an xp-e (de-dome though) in a d25Cvn and that can throw a beam some...........

If i was to guess on the 200lm rotary, it probably would be within a handful of lumens to the max output of the Ra that gets used the most.

The Ra ti is something else as well, you need one of those for your HDS family:poke:

Quite a find! I was disappointed when Henry discontinued the Twisty line because they seemed like they were great bullet-proof back-up lights, but I never had the chance to buy one.
