Working on two things. A new light engine for current DEFT-X/Victor owners and a new reflector based thrower. Note that there are no plans currently to sell new Victors or any lights containing the collar. Would have to get back under license to do so. The reflector light is going to be really really special. Going to be breaking new ground. And no six months is way too long. Can't say exactly as there is still ongoing development but I would keep an eye out here.

So that is the throw of the original Deft-X but the light output of a reflector instead of a pencil thin aspheric, ok I can dig it!! Although I also like aspherics. I actually just found out you were back on the horse, I remember you said that all your plans got derailed with the Wavien collar back in May. Just caught up on the thread, I'm glad you are back.

So let me see if I understand, your plan is to put the TN42vn to shame (which is Vinh's current reflector throw king)? Approximately the same type of thrower as the TN42vn but better? And like you said Saab, that's not a knock on Vinh, it's just that Vinh goes for higher volume than you. He spends a bit of time on his mods and cranks a bunch out, whereas you plan to very thoroughly and painstakingly create a masterpiece going over every fine detail to perfection. Is that analogy accurate?

I haven't made the final determination yet. Still testing several paths. I'm actually revisiting the XPG3 to make sure there is no way to make it work. The active layer of these LEDs are amazing. My goal is to etch the top of the die and then reapply the phosphor. Wish they hadn't made the substrate so thick.

The poem was just off the top of my head, it was spontaneous as I focused on the first part of the post[phone calls w/ deep, intellectual,gratifying,,,ok u read it already!] which was more important!

EDIT...Right now the promise of this reflector thrower is stopping me from ordering the TN42vn, too similar to get both IMO. Money advantage, TN42vn. Throw advantage, will definitely be Saab. 50% chance I cave and order the TN42vn...50% chance I hold out for Saab.

I suggest you go ahead and buy the TN42vn, then when Saab's creation reaches the production phase just put the TN up for sale. I also suggest you make mention in your sales thread that the TN was reportedly once used by Southie legend Whitey Bulger, but that you can't 100 percent confirm it. If you word it that way you won't really be lying.
