Help with 3D cell Maglite problem

I have been fooling around with a 3D Maglite. I am considering getting a different LED to put in it. I tried rotating the existing module, and it doesn't seem to come out. Also, it now is very intermittent, works generally in a vertical orientation, but never in a horizontal one.

I can't find a model number, but there's a serial number DL300076787, followed by PATENTED IN U.S.A beneath. It has the panther marked on the bezel with R in a circle following. This site suggests it's from 1996 to 2002, but the serial number doesn't seem to line up to me.

I was able to find a video that showed me how to remove the switch assy. I had monkeyed around too much with the LED assy and bent the copper tab inside it. I was able to bend it back, reassemble and it works reliably now!
