Have these 2 and just ordered more! I emailed an order for Mahi head and 16650 body. I asked for a link to the driver programming, as I will be modifying. Don went ahead and soldered the jumper for programming. Nice touch!

I will use the Nichia 4000K Hive Mahi head on order with Tri-Pak body. The Titanium Malkoff VME head has the M361 Nichia 219 V3 engine from Illumn. It will go to the 16650 body on order. I think these would be better setups.

Edit: The Haiku is the Nichia 119V 4000K 1.5v AA engine. Eneloop only. Love it! I read somewhere the 1.5v goes away when current stock depleted. I hope im wrong, but Snag one!

Carry On!

In Hawaiian, mahi means "strong," "energetic," or "forceful". :-P
Yes, I was just being cheeky.
I have a very large Polynesian family. Mainly Tongan, some Samoan and Māori.

A lot of Polynesian language is fairly universal but Mahi just happens to differ a little. I’ve drawn the odd smirk when announcing I’m getting my Mahi out 😄
I stick out like the proverbial amongst my family, no idea of my heritage as I’ve never met anyone else I’m related to apart from my kids. I do have an Irish name which I’m quite proud of though.

Hope everyone is having a joyful Easter.

It's a Mahi Monday! Starting the day with these 3. Tracking says "Out For Delivery". Mahi head with Nichia 4000K Hive and 16650 body. Malkoff head pictured goes to the 16650 body. Better fit than 16340. Mahi head matches the Tri-Pak.

Carry On!

Edit: And then there was 4!

I LOVE how when the Mahi head is tight to the Tri-Pak body the machining lines up! That's some engineering!

Well it took about 30 minutes but I got it sorted out.

Output levels to 5

Voltage foldback to Li Primary

Output Level 1 moved from light level 2 to 4

Looks way brighter in the pic than real life.

Edit: Moved back to 4 output levels and made the low match the low of my Malkoff MDC CR123. Why? It's the most used level of the most used light in my collection. Might as well set up the McGizmo for success.

Carry On!

Yeah it’s weird.
For clarity it’s a surgery model that a friend asked me to fix. I thought it made an interesting, unusual scene.

Morning coffee with a couple of mates.
The ever present Haiku AA and a red bull ant. He had a gammy front left leg unfortunately. Although this made him less likely to have a go at me.

I'm falling in love with my Haiku AA. The more I use it the more I'm not thinking of other lights! 🔦
It earned its way to becoming the light I carry just about everywhere (for around a decade now).
Initially I would not have suspected the AA driver to be the one. At first glance I thought the mode spacing was a little off and modest in output but then I found it perfect.
After carrying many lights I settled on the 123 pak Haiku with 3S converter. I still love the 3S.
Once I got the AA I realised that the way it carries in pocket along with the utility of running AA batteries is incredibly versatile and hard working.

It’s a legendary light.

Original 119V goodness.
