Looking to get in contact with milky. I have an at least 15 year old L1 that he modded and would like to bring back up to modern standards. Anyone have contact information or does he still lurk around.

I used to be a member here under the same name a lifetime ago. I have had a decent amount of lights but always retune to my ML1. I would love to bring her up to date and get some more power out of it. Hoping he is still around

Guessing you weren't around back when Scott screwed over a bunch of CPFers and cheated them out of their money, and flashlights they sent to him; to mod. And, no; he's not still around after having cheated so many members who trusted him.

Holy poop No. Guessing my ML1 will be staying as is and I will buy something else. That’s a shame

How about @Tana as an alternative ?

Haven't seen any posts in a while ... still active ?

It really is. I got my last Milky-modded light about 6 months before Scott betrayed everyone's trust. Had you asked me back then who would be the one modder on all of CPF to NOT turn against us. I would have said Scott. I legit would have. In a heartbeat. 😞

I haven't seen anything of Tana in a few years, but then again you never know when they'll decide to pop back in.
I know one member who went awol. Then one day out of the clear blue he showed up wearing platinum bars;^)

Tana is back on facebook (Tana Workshop) at least and doing business as a modder, but the new customs/shipping regulations have been cutting into him

I wonder what would be the best way to re-introduce myself on CPF after years and years of being away from this place. So much changed, though.
Sir, your reputation for quality precedes you. No formal introduction is necessary! Glad you are here. Regards.

Was definitely around here 20 years ago and back again. Would like to see what you could do.

I have a few L1,s he modded. Really great useful lights. Very sad what happened. I've been gone a long time and didnt see that drama. I'm sure someone else here could help you out.

You have a few ML1’s or a few from Tana ?? If from Tana what type of output I am looking for primary 123 batteries. Need low and high. Hoping for something would bring it to modern standards. Also have a L4 I would like to update.

Are you referring to Milkyspit? I think that was his name. When did that happen? I was in contact with him some time ago about having some drop in's made but he didn't seem that interested in taking on the project.

I think Scott moved on from that. Scott started working on something else roughly around 2014. He got me in also, and I made a lot of money in a few years. The gig ended for me around 2018. I'm not sure how much longer Scott stayed. I haven't really kept in touch since then but it's safe to say he's likely not all that interested in doing modding any more. If I recall when he did mod it took up a lot of his time relative to what he earned.

We need to look at this in terms of how flashlights and other portable lighting has developed since then. At the time Scott's mods gave you something which just wasn't available commercially. Now you can get flashlights, bike lights, camping lights, etc. putting out many hundreds, or even thousands, of lumens for tens of dollars at places like AliExpress. In this environment there's no longer much of a market for modding.

This was back sometime in 2011 or 2012. I do remember it was a UV drop in to look for florescent dye. I cant remember the exact details but I do know the light had to be waterproof and UV drop ins were almost unheard of at that point in time.
