Hi David,

Glad you received your light and am pleased with it. I noticed that when the battery is running low the light will flicker as you rotate the bezel to switch it on. You are right to say that holding it helps to reduce the heat built-up as your hand becomes the heat sink.

baylisstic, on a fully charged battery its about 25 minutes and will dim off gradually. Maybe the new owners would like to do some runtime test and post here.

Its drawing around 500mA when tested with a Meterman 34XR DMM

Well... I just got this light today and I got to compare it to my 1w Lambda MicroPill which is very similar at first glance. I pulled out the trusty LUX meter and took some readings. My 1w measured 100 LUX at 1m while the new 3w measured a whopping 225 LUX at 1m!! The MicroPill has a warm daylight tint while the LUX3 has a bright hot white tint and also more LUMENS. It pretty much drowns out the 1w when placed over top.

Pulled out my Q3 to compare and found the hotspot and throw of the Q3 was brighter and farter respectively but the LUX3 had more LUMEN output as witnessed by comparing ceiling bounce tests. It is probably because the corona and spill is a lot wider than the Q3.

All in all a VERY nice mod. Worth every penny. BTW it came with a very nice charger and 2 rechargable LiON AAA batteries. Would be nice to get an HA3 Solitaire to mod. A friend got to see this light at lunch in broad daylight up against an ARC that I got him. He wants one now /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif This mod has a much bigger impact in a dark room though and he will be pleasantly surprised if I can get him one.
