This excellent memoir by geologist Marcia Bjornerud intertwines her personal journey with accessible science. Especially strong on basic rock types and plate tectonics. Emphasizes our connection as a species to the planet. Well written; scientifically and spiritually relevant.

From flying open cockpits in the 1920s, to his final gig as a 747 pilot, Buck walks you (fondly) through the memories and experiences of the day. It's a good read, even if you're not an aviation geek.
