I use S1 in close-quarters only, so I never had in my mind to require any throw from it. For open spaces I use TN12 and MH20.

I like mine, but only for a backup light. I have a S30 that has a similar UI. I like the UI, but its not as good as some of my other lights. The last part is really not a fair comment though, I think I've become a Zebralight fan now since thats what i compare any other UI to.
I bought an S15R last week and liked it so much that I went back and got the S1 over the weekend.
To me the S15 is a much better EDC even given the extra size but it is not going to win a spot in my pocket over my SC52 which reigns supreme over all challengers since it was released.
The clip is terrible and it won't clip to my pocket really at all in either orientation? Why is the raised section there at all? This prevents it from sliding onto the pocket while it would be unpaid down even if it would slide in far enough?
The Lockout is a huge feature for me and the memory of modes in the S15 are ideal but both are oddly removed from the newer model?
I do love the basic design and size and performance and magnet but…….
Also I didn't know they were available in a Neutral too or I sure would have tried to get that one instead.
If this is only made in the Copper versions then I am OK not having it as they are too heavy and flashy for me anyway.

Just curious.. What Zebralights do you have? I still like the UI and tint of my Zebralight, but I love my S1 a lot too. Almost tempted to pick up one of the neutral white S1...

Walked through the snow to my neighbor's house night. An excellent opportunity to check out brightness levels. I use the 16340 battery (it makes a difference).

I have sc51, SC600, H502 and the H600w Mk II NW. I still love my H600w Mk II NW, I would say the color of the NW tint is better than my NW s1 baton. I really struggled between getting the Zebralight sc5 and the S1. Since I already have 4 Zebralights I decided to give Olight a try. So for $20 more than the Zebralight I got a titanium light than looks beautiful with it's rose gold accents and it came with a battery, lanyard, and a glow in the dark cone, no extra o-rings for some reason, even though the Aluminum version has them. The magnet and cone are great. When I go downstairs to the kitchen at night to make some tea, I just use the cone to make a soft warm area light and stick the light on the metal handles of the cabinets.
I still like Zebralights, but I find the moonlight mode on the Olight better to access. Sometime I would accidentally go into high with my Zebralights, especially if I was very tired or rushed. My fiance can't seem to get into moonlight at all with the Zebralight :laughing:
And now that Zebralight is moving on to shorter unprotected 18650s, I fear I won't get anymore. I only have protected 18650 batteries, and getting them shipped here can be a real pain. I once ordered 18650s from Zebralight and Canadian customs sent them back. It took 2 months for me to get an email saying it was shipped back.
One downfall of the Ti version of the S1 is that you cannot lock out the light like you can with the aluminum version. If you do get the Ti version, just remember the NW in my opinion is nicer on the Zebralight that I have.

I'll just answer your question for now, I have Zebralight Sc51, Sc600, H502 and H600w Mk II NW.

Again, S1 has so miniscule drain in off that disconnecting a battery has no practical sense :) And what about me -- had not a single accidental on so far.

My next consideration is the SC600w MK3 and SC63w...then hope to take a break from buying more till the next version from Zebralight.. Lol..
I had the S1 for maybe 3 weeks now and had one accidental activation in my pocket. Not sure how it happened but I think that time I was sort of expecting it to happen as I caught it quickly.

Excuse me if I've missed something obvious, but I can't find it -- has anyone published the runtime on moonlight, for either an RCR or CR?

I don't think that's correct as of now - it's grossly exaggerated. There's a recent thread that has all the details (someone actually tested the length of the Baton's moonlight mode!)...but it's definitely not 500+ hours.

Per the brochure that Olight includes with the S1, they claim 600 hours on .5 lumens.

They tested it out on RC123A batteries lol. What would the difference be between that and a CR123A? In any case, it still seems very exagerrated :( That's where I got my information from...maybe you guys can verify this?

Please remember that is Olight is using FL1 as the testing standard that the light is allowed to run down to 1/10th of the original out put and still claim the time listed. Also, RCR123A batteries don't have the same capacity as for CR123 batteries.
Data sheet for Energizer CR123 shows http://data.energizer.com/PDFs/123.pdf 1500 mAH capacity
Various RCR123/16340 batteries claim 650-700 mAH other than one Efest that claims to having 850mAH.

Hmm. What would the difference in time on moonlight be between the RC123 and CR123? I can't imagine that the RC123 would be less than half the time, even then; which is what those guys in that thread are finding.
Edit: My bad, I didn't read your part about the battery capacities. Yes that makes more sense now lol. But that still doesn't account for 60 hours (2 and 1/2 days, what they got) as opposed to 600 hours (20+ days).

Go to the BatteryJunction website and search for the S1... Scroll down where the specs are listed and you will see that they also list the runtimes for an RCR123 (650 mAh capacity).... The specified runtime in moonlight mode is 360 hours for that battery type... Whether or not that is accurate - I don't know...
