Lost my Hl 5x that I have had for 5 years. Been looking for 3 weeks with no luck. Can't do without it any longer because I only have 29 other lights now.
May as well modernize if I am going to replace it thus HL-6.
If anyone is interested I will let you all know how it is when I get it.

Love mine, although I haven’t used it for a while.
Let us know how you get on.

Say more about the batteries?
The website says that it runs on 2x "SL-B48" batteries, each with an integrated USB-C port.
What size are those? 18650? 21700? It's hard to get the scale from the photo.
And can you run it with normal, non-proprietary cells of the same size?

Once I receive my HL-6 I will probably find my HL-5x and so I will kind of have two. The 5x is a killer light too.
Yes, it is, but not nearly as "killer" as the HL-6

I know this, because I have (2) HL-5X's also

The HL-6 uses (2) - 21700's

As I did with my HL-5X's (18650's), I switched out the factory batteries, for higher capacity 21700 KeepPowers (18650's in the HL-5X's)

So yes, you can "run it" on "non-factory" batteries (at least I have)

I have done this with many SL 18650's, in more than a few SL flashlights, over the years

I've NEVER had a problem, however YMMV

I have this light and it’s impressive. I tried several of them and the tint does vary significantly between them. The first one I had I actually think was defective because it was so blue. The one I have now is amazing and it’s the perfect truck/scene light. I actually use a little bungee and strap into a pole and take it camping to light up the whole campsite.
