Hi :D

Bought my first surefire, I have never owned a "Good" flashlight, Have always owned 5 dollar walmart/autozone "tactical" flashlights, I like the strike bezels on lights, but had a need to carry due to how much I ride at night. I would break down often lol. (old Harley)

This is my Flashlight

I also have 4 spare Surefire 123A batteries and ordered a mini case for them (SP-3?)

My question is this, I want to get a replacement LED bulb for it incase mine gives out on me.
Also on another thread I was told just to buy a new "head" for it, I have tried my flashlight and it dosnt seem to seperate in 3, as opposed to just the rear cap and main body w/head. If I want to replace just the head for it is there something "special" I have to do? (Put the body in boiling water or something?)

Thank you for any help and just for looking

It likely won't give out in your life time. They are not like the old bulbs you are familiar with.

EDIT: I don't own one of those lights so I can't check, but where did you read that bezel fits your light? I thought they only worked on the older style bezels. I could be wrong. You have the G2X, not G2. I have that bezel on a older gen G2. It is nice bezel. If you are curious about doing tweaks and mods, check out the old G2 lights. The Aluminum head ones are what I suggest. Nice platform.

Str8stroke speaks the truth, you don't need to buy a spare. They aren't even available for purchase. If for some reason it stops working, you will just send it back to SureFire for warranty repair.

Not sure about the strike bezels. I do remember seeing some folks put aftermarket bezels on the 6PX/G2X era flashlights but I can't remember any particulars about which ones they used.

The nitrolon heads are fixed semi-permanently to the body.

I read here somewhere Sure Fire uses red locktite and has to be heated to break the bond. There was a warning that the heat applied may soften the nitrolon.

Like the others said, this 'bulb' is not like ones with a filament. It's an LED light emitter. They usually last a long, long time. Think solid state vs tubes.

And the nitrolon casing is a bit of added shock protection.

You've got yourself one tough flashlight there.Batteries should be your only concern. The higher the lumens, the quicker the G2 devours juice.

I bought the 'pro' model since it starts on low, which is great for most situations, and extends battery life in a major amount but a quick click gives you 320 bad guy blinding lumens real quick like.

Here is the thread for converting to and from Tactical to Pro or the other way round.. Cut the trace to make it tactical or put in a jumper to make it a Pro.. Somebody else figured it out.. I'm the monkey see, monkey do guy

Thanks you all :D saw on the site it can be out on a g2 figured it was all g2's :/....

I know theres the marking on the bezel that show it can be removed. Will post more tomorrow posting from my phone

Ok back at work with a full size computer lol.

The strike bezel I saw on ebay says under "other brands" Surefire - G2X, I will let you all know if it works should be in soon.

There is no need to remove the head of your G2X, and in the EXTREMELY unlikely event the LED fails, you can send it back to Surefire for free repair/replacement.

well hopefully strike bezel works, will look into a tail cap with a shroud then lol.

Want something like this.

I have a need to have it stand facing up every now and then. This looks cool too lol.

also saw this that I thought was cool. lol

I probably should of just bought a Regular G2 and modified it :/

Pix no worky.

The malkoff/mcgizmo tail captail stands but looks normal if you like stealth.

I tried it on my 6p and G2 and it fits both.

Just to clarify are you referring to the malkoff/mcgizmo tail switch that's designed for the MD series?

I'm getting ready to build a Malkoff Franken6P and was curious if the MD series cap is cross compatible with the Z41.

From my research I THINK it is.

Yes. I bought an MD2 and a spare tail switch/cap for drilling so I can have a lanyard cord when walking on slopes or hanging from hooks etc.

I personally don't dig on the protrusion of the metal ring of the SF/Malkoff lanyard receiver.

If it's a 1" barrel with same threads as the 6p it'll fit.

This one? It works fine with the G2X and any of the other C/D/G/P/Z series flashlights (plus a few others).

Awesome, thanks! Just ordered a M61 mod and a blem'd Malkoff Tailcap/switch from Malkoff's site for my FrankenP.

Still waiting on some rapid replacement parts from Surefire but right now it's working well enough for duty work. Gotta love being able to scavenge parts from my G3 LED to get this started.

Yes, sorry for late reply.

Sidenote:

I tried to remove the bezel on my G2X, I let the flashlight (Head only) sit in boiling water a bit, Used the Diffuser/wrench to try and remove it, Stuck on there real well x.X

The Strike bezel (Xeno) also says it works for G2 and G2 LED.

I know someone said cold works too, but going to see what else I can do.
