Re: The Lounge

I know this question been ask before but can someone tell me how the turbo timer works on drivervnx2? I can't figure it out.

Re: The Lounge

Configure the turbo timer
Enter config menu by 8 (or more) fast taps, wait for the blinking signal, then enter turbo config mode by the according number of taps (see mode list). The light then runs at full power. Let it run for the desired time (e.g. until it gets hot; use a full battery), then tap to switch off. That time is now set for the turbo timer. Setting a time below 4 seconds disables it. The turbo timer has a maximum of ~20 minutes (this is also the default). It applies to all modes above 50% and smoothly ramps them down to 50%.

Think its 30 quick presses from menu, once its on just let it run, when you think its hot enough switch off and its set for that time.

Can't seem to get into turbo timer mode. After 30 quick press it does nothing. If I press and hold the button, it lights up. If I let go it turns off. Removing tail cap returns to normal and back to last group that I set it to.

I finally got it to work. It's actually 20 taps once in menu, not 30 taps as I've been reading. Thank you Saul Good. Ur always helping one way or another[emoji1]. Hope this helps others.

Re: The Lounge

Glad to hear you got it going. I believe 30 taps is for Drivervn (non e. switch).

Re: The Lounge

Cool, glad sorted! Never tried altering turbo timer as never had a need yet. The 30 was off the drivervn but could not find the x2 ,so presumed same:crazy:

If not already, the xhp70 de-domed k60vn is a must VN for a stunning beam

Got to love the xhp70!!!

Re: The Lounge

Hello VNaholics! :grin2: I've recently registered to these forums but I have lurked here for a while. I found out about Vinh lights here and read a lot of good things about them so I decided to take the plunge! Ordered a S200C2vn. And I guess I got lucky, because my first light was a Fiat Lux! I'm hooked! Lol

Please order more vn lights. Lol

Re: The Lounge

I wonder if anyone else has had this experience?

I have 2 separate vn lights on order, and both have been shipped. Both were set to arrive within 1-3 days. I am in New Mexico, so it should be a fairly-straight shot from western Washington, right?

My first package, inexplicably, went from Washington to South Carolina and is now enroute and should be here by Monday. Maybe. I confirmed that the shipping address is correct, and of course the helpful postal employee had no idea why the package was routed in this manner.

The second package was shipped immediately, but the tracking scan has not been updated and I won't know until Monday if it is coming via a more direct route or if it is traveling the country like the first one.

There is a reason why, in my household, USPS stands for "United States Piece of Stool" and has for quite some time.

Vinh, have you ever considered an "upgraded" shipping option (via UPS or FedEx)? I, for one, would be willing to pay for this service.

Re: The Lounge

Hey all I have a "what would you do" type question.

Some background story, I recently put in an order for the MX25L3Cvn but currently on hold. Could be forever but maybe over time the project will restart. Time will tell. In the meantime I've been thinking about what to do but need help from fellow flashlight folks. Should I:

1) wait for the MX25L3Cvn project to potentially continue? Could be a long time before that happens.

2) pick up a MX30L3C and send it in to vinh for thermal pads, led replacement to Nichia 219C 70+ cri and current boost? I would plan on keeping stock ui.

3. Pick up a TK75vnQ70 that is diffused dome but also able to use battery extension tubes. This would mean lower output than what is currently available at the store. Speaking of that any guesses as to what the lumen output would be? 13000? I would also probably wait for drivervnx3 before thinking of this light.

I currently own a TK75vnQ PDTc and love it but I have nothing that is "crazy" like the Q70 version. Any input would help :)

Re: The Lounge

Tough call which really you can only answer tbh drummer, me i cant say anything other then the q70 as i picked that over the others.............

Shaved dome, if its 14,000 or 14,500 etc, you would not be able to tell easy by the eye if at all imho............At that level its crazy bright!

Go with what you would use the most, that would be my advise, all would be amazing in their own way.

What use do you have in mind?

USPS can be very hit/miss, my last one was not updated from initial scan, after 15 days i rang and said nothing they could do as not got past the 1st initial stage. Then that evening it updated coming into the UK, within 24hrs it was in my hands:crazy: Never happened before and bare in mind its always around 8 days..........

I presume they did not scan it at USPS, it made its way over the pond and then picked up! Or when they searched it updated something .............

Before now peoples lights have gone around the USA, completely different direction before ending up in their hands!

Soon be there and no doubt a nice surprise:naughty:

Funny part is no real particular use to be honest other than to simply use when I use a different light to much lol. Change it up etc. Or maybe it was those pics of that ridiculously awesome collection and I'm trying to play catch up [emoji28] though the TK75vnQ70 would be handy for night hiking with a battery extension tube.

One reason I would hold off on the MX30L3C is because the MX25L3Cvn would trounce the MX30L3C. Same output probably but way more throw with the MX25L3Cvn.

Re: The Lounge

Sounds like you need more than one of the lights to feed your flashaholism :p

The Q70 would make an excellent hiking light if you don't mind the size(having the Q says you don't mind) and the beam is a wall of far throwing light. Would maybe look at the 5000k xhp70's , for a more neutral tint which kind of gets that bit closer to the nichia(shaved dome more so). Although it's not the exact nichia tint it's still not as cool as the 6000k if makes sense(call it a happy medium ).

Also would be able to swap about the runtime kit between the Q and Q70, so there is a little bit of extra flexibility !

Would you not consider the rc40vnF version, kind of a bigger brother to the Q70! Will handle the heat a bit better which I know is a concern for you.......just a thought
